We absolutely love Bearded Irises. They’ve become a firm favourite in our gardens over the years and we keep finding spaces to dedicate to more varieties!
They produce such beautifully scented, glamorous displays every June and they are a real staple plant in our gardens.
Here are just a handful of the many varieties we have and love at Netherwood.

We have the wonderful exhibiting artwork at Netherwood from Friday 5th - Sunday 14th June. This coincides with the last of our open gardens this year on 13th-14th June so do come along and enjoy the garden at the same time.
It’s a wonderful exhibition offering a collection of original works by John Piper, Elisabeth Frink, Rowland Suddaby, Robert Tavener and their contemporaries. All works are for sale, and prices for prints start at £25.
For more info please see the link in our bio, the exhibition is free of charge, open from 9am-4pm and no booking is required.

Some of our favourite images from the recent shoot at Netherwood. It’s lovely to go on their website and see the estate so beautifully shot to showcase their spring / summer collection. Particularly proud of the runner ducks for their stand out performances!

Not sure what is sweeter, the Netherwood ducklings or the smell of the Freeth’s enormous wisteria in full bloom at the moment!

The garden at The Freeth is looking spectacular. There’s still a couple of weekends left this summer if you’re thinking of coming to stay and enjoying the tranquility for yourself. The house is beautifully finished, sleeps up to 18 and has the luxury of a private indoor swimming pool. See the link in our bio for available dates.

This is Herefordshire’s answer to the cottage from The Holiday. The Freeth is a lovingly restored country house with covetable, cosy interiors with roaring fires and squishy sofas. It’s a tad larger than the film original and sleeps up to 18. It also has its own indoor swimming pool to keep everyone entertained whatever the weather. Sadly we can’t guarantee that the likes of live down the road….

We have a few winter weekends available to come and hunker down between now and spring. See link in bio for more info.

Honoured that The Hyde is included in this week’s Sunday Times list of ‘The most fabulous UK holiday lets for big parties’ - fun rentals for large groups that go beyond the ordinary. Thank you for embracing the enjoyment to be had when staying here. The Hyde sleeps 20 in 10 en-suite bedrooms, surrounded by a 2 acre garden and private narrow gauge steam railway, as well as private lakes a short walk through cider apple orchards for wild swimming and messing about in kayaks.
