Archaeologists and conservators are uncovering and protecting a remarkable Roman mosaic at an important villa site near Halberton. The SHARE project is helping to reveal Mid Devon’s rich heritage, with support from local partners and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

If you haven't explored Bampton on foot yet, you're missing out.

The town itself is a lovely wander, and the wider area has some seriously good walking country too, from town history trails to longer routes out into the surrounding countryside.

The best place to start is Bampton Heritage & Visitor Centre who have walk books and run regular guided walks throughout the year. Well worth a visit before you head out.
