MEET THE TEAM 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ - Klay
Klay is a London-based naturalist whose love for the natural world was inspired early on by his childhood hero, Steve Irwin. Growing up just a stone's throw away from the big city, he developed a deep and wide-ranging passion for nature—fascinated by everything from birds and butterflies to whales and all that lies between. This enthusiasm led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology at university.
Over the years, Klay has worked extensively as a freelance ecologist, carrying out ecological surveys across diverse landscapes—from the Royal Parks of London to the remote Scottish Highlands. His work has included monitoring birds, small mammals, butterflies, and even invasive moth species.
Klay is especially passionate about rewilding and restoring natural processes in the UK. He is also committed to making wildlife watching more inclusive and accessible, particularly for people from ethnic minorities and disadvantaged backgrounds.
