In his new book, A British Childhood, award-winning author and screenwriter Frank Cottrell-Boyce draws on his own 1960s Liverpool childhood and his travels around the country as Children’s Laureate. Along the way, he met young people in schools, libraries and young offenders’ institutions—and listened to their experiences.
