The monthly Totnes Artisan Market is FILLED with bargains! ๐ŸŽ ๐Ÿงต

Here are some pictures from last month, where we had a relaxing time exploring the stalls of local crafters and artists.. Everything is beautifully handmade and so reasonably priced that it's tempting to pick up some early Christmas presents... or simply presents for yourself!๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ“… The next market is Tuesday 8th September at the Civic Hall. Put aside a few quid and discover hand-crafted gifts galore! โœจ

China Blue hums with activity. โ˜•๐Ÿง

Families, teens and friends are busy painting ceramics; half of Totnes seems to be eating, drinking and chatting in the cafรฉ, while the shop itself โ€“ crammed with jewellery, beauty products, foodie treats, home dรฉcor and, of course, every ceramic you can think of โ€“ is equally lively.

The eight-minute-or-so walk from Totnes High Street can feel like setting off for a whole new day out: Thereโ€™s so much going on! Besides the brilliant cafรฉ and shop, painting ceramics is a great leveller โ€“ everyone can have a go โ€“ and with prices starting from just a few quid, itโ€™s an affordable family activity too.

China Blue is easy to miss if youโ€™re visiting Totnes, simply because it isnโ€™t right in the centre. But do as the locals do and ensure to make a few hours of it! โ˜•๐ŸŽจ

Behold! Totnes has an apothecary and treatment room! ๐Ÿ’ฎ๐ŸŒฟ

India, a community herbalist and the owner of Hearth Herbal, is a true fountain of knowledge, offering herbal approaches to support a wide range of ailments and everyday wellbeing.

But Hearth Herbal is also simply a lovely place to visit, filled with scrummy teas, lotions, potions, balms and beautiful artworks. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿงด

Specialising in British native and naturalised herbs, it's a little haven for anyone curious about the plants growing around us and how they can benefit health and wellbeing. Find it up on the High Street. ๐ŸŒฟ

It's easy to miss The Leechwell: 3 natural springs tucked away on Leechwell Lane, situated above Leechwell Gardens. ๐Ÿ’ง

The three springs are known as Snake, Long Crippler and Toad, and many believe the waters have healing properties. As such, it has an interesting history - in the 15th century The Leechwell was so popular it even had wardens to look after it. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿชฑ๐Ÿธ

These days it has a more modest standing, though small offerings and clouties - coloured ribbons - are still left by some visitors. ๐Ÿ’—

We chose beautiful Dartington Trust to view the eclipse. It got darker and the contrast of shadows became more vivid... though we suspect eclipse glasses would have been preferable to a colander! ๐Ÿ˜„
