The monthly Totnes Artisan Market is FILLED with bargains! 🎠🧵

Here are some pictures from last month, where we had a relaxing time exploring the stalls of local crafters and artists.. Everything is beautifully handmade and so reasonably priced that it's tempting to pick up some early Christmas presents... or simply presents for yourself!😏

China Blue hums with activity. ☕🧁

Families, teens and friends are busy painting ceramics; half of Totnes seems to be eating, drinking and chatting in the café, while the shop itself – crammed with jewellery, beauty products, foodie treats, home décor and, of course, every ceramic you can think of – is equally lively.

The eight-minute-or-so walk from Totnes High Street can feel like setting off for a whole new day out: There’s so much going on! Besides the brilliant café and shop, painting ceramics is a great leveller – everyone can have a go – and with prices starting from just a few quid, it’s an affordable family activity too.

China Blue is easy to miss if you’re visiting Totnes, simply because it isn’t right in the centre. But do as the locals do and ensure to make a few hours of it! ☕🎨

It's easy to miss The Leechwell: 3 natural springs tucked away on Leechwell Lane, situated above Leechwell Gardens. 💧

The three springs are known as Snake, Long Crippler and Toad, and many believe the waters have healing properties. As such, it has an interesting history - in the 15th century The Leechwell was so popular it even had wardens to look after it. 🐍🪱🐸

These days it has a more modest standing, though small offerings and clouties - coloured ribbons - are still left by some visitors. 💗

We chose beautiful Dartington Trust to view the eclipse. It got darker and the contrast of shadows became more vivid... though we suspect eclipse glasses would have been preferable to a colander! 😄
