To a child a plastic tube can be a powerful spaceship, a cardboard box a skyscraper and a pile of foam or fabric offcuts the building blocks of something amazing. We are a tiny Totton based charity providing an Aladdin’s cave of low cost recycled arts and crafts resources for the communities in which we operate. Our volunteers collect clean waste materials donated by local businesses and although

we are open to everyone, our materials are mainly used for kids arts and crafts activities stimulating innovation and creativity at a young age, enhancing learning and play experiences at the same time as diverting waste from landfill.

We are open from 3-5 today. Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday from 10-12. Friday 3-5 and Saturday 10-12.

We have just received a large donation of leather hides. Some of which are huge.
We are offering these to members for £20.
We would love to see what you decide to use them for or what you have made from them.
Table coverings, handbags or seat covers?
These hides are likely to be very popular, so in order to ensure our fair usage policy is maintained we have decided that we will be limiting purchasing to 3 hides per month per member.
We would also like to remind individual members that anything purchased from the Scrapstore can only be used or repurposed for their own personal use.
We are open on Mondays and Fridays from 3-5. Saturdays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10-12.

Together we have awarded £9500 to local community groups 🥰
Together we have rehomed over 3000 meters of fabric, that is nearly enough to wrap round 10 football or rugby pitches 🤣
We hope all our members, donors and volunteers feel proud to be part of these successes.

We thought we’d share some photos of things made by members and volunteers from our stock.
Blinds made from shower curtains. Clothes made from fabric and curtain samples. Parasol cover made from an outdoor sofa cover. 110 hospital surgery drain bags and 10 tote bags for ladies leaving hospital with nothing made from a variety of fabrics. Pretty bags and beautiful cushions also made using fabric pieces.
So much talent out there.
Don’t forget our offer of half price bag of fabric pieces (£1) is available until then end of August.

We have received a donation of 25kg empty Malt bags.
These can be repurposed into heavy-duty bin liners or garden w**d barriers.
They can also be used to store firewood, or seasonal gear in the garage using the breathable yet strong sack.
The bold typography and logos printed on malt sacks make them popular for sewing into durable shopping tote bags.
Please let us also know how you would repurpose these sacks.
