Babyprints specialise in providing bespoke hand made framed 3D casts and impressions of babies’ hand and footprints, capturing those treasured memories forever. Our handprint and footprint casting services are suitable for babies, children and even adults. Our exclusive frames are handmade in solid wood and are of superior quality, with a choice of 5 different coloured frames and various options for mounts and finish combinations. Each Babyprint is unique and creates a stunning piece of artwork to be treasured forever. Taking the prints:
The casting is a simple process, and involves gently immersing each hand or foot in a lukewarm syrupy material, the consistency of thick custard, which sets in 10 - 15 seconds to a rubbery mould from which the hand or foot is easily removed. We use high quality hypoallergenic moulding powder that gives a fine cast and excellent result. The impressions are taken by pressing the hand or foot into soft clay, from which a plaster tile is created and then framed. The casting appointment will take approximately 30 minutes, this includes time to take the casts and to choose your frame and finish. The frames are handmade to order for each child; the finished framed piece is ready to collect in 4 to 6 weeks. Making an appointment:

LO👣E frames usually feature a pair of casts to make the V.
When Lauren had her second baby she asked me if the second set of casts could be added to her original frame instead of the L so she could have both casts in one frame.
Everything was remounted on to a new backboard and reframed to make a beautiful new design for her.

Lucy brought 4 month old Florence to get casts made as a surprise for her husband’s 40th birthday.
I knew the frame would not be ready in time for the big celebration so I suggested we made a voucher with photos of the raw casts that she could gift to him on his birthday.
Her husband Paul was delighted with the surprise and they both waited excitedly to see the finished frame. As you can see form the review their patience was rewarded, and they were over the moon with the final result.

Everyone says that babies grow and change so quickly in those first few weeks and months and it really is true!
Jack’s mum bought him to have his casts made when he was 7 weeks new. When she sent photos of the raw casts to her mum, Grandma loved them so much she wanted her own set.
Holidays and illness meant that it was several weeks before we the second set of casts were made. It was amazing to see how much bigger Jack’s foot had got in those few short weeks!

A few weeks ago I posted about a customer who had come with her 3 lovely boys, aged 4 and a half, 2 and 13 weeks, to get their casts made and asked your opinions on the layouts she should choose.
These are the final results. 2 beautiful pieces of family art to preserve that moment in time.

When 2 week old Abel came to get his casts made this week he definitely was not happy about having his right foot done!
I wasn’t sure how the casts would come out as he was very wriggly so we ended up having 3 attempts.
As it turned out all 3 came out beautifully 😊

If you were thinking about getting any castings done of your child’s hands/feet and had any doubts then absolutely you must book here and you won’t be disappointed. I contacted Claire via Facebook and received a very prompt reply with a booking link which was easy to use. Claire was superb at our appointment and talked us through the choices of frames and colours etc we could have for the castings. Claire was extremely patient with a sleepy and slightly grumpy baby. There was no rushing during the appointment which was perfect as it allowed for an unexpected nappy change! We were absolutely thrilled with the end result.

I opened my Babyprints franchise in 2017 and have been creating special memories for customers in the Bath, Wiltshire and Bristol areas ever since. I have created 100s of casts, each one unique and treasured by their owners. Casts can be taken at any age, from the newest to the oldest members of your family, from individual hands and feet to families joined together forever. The process is very quick and whilst generally adults and older children do as they’re told, babies can and do behave differently. I’ve had many that slept through the whole process, some who have smiled and “chatted” to me while I took their casts, and others who have needed a little more distraction and comforting!
Having been a primary school teacher for over 20 years, I have a huge amount of experience working with children. However your child reacts, my aim is to keep everyone as relaxed as possible so they’re able to enjoy the experience.
I allow an hour for appointments and most of this time will be taken up by you choosing the perfect frame and mount. I have a wide selection of styles and colours for you to choose from. The casting itself takes less than a minute for each little hand or foot and I like to allow extra time in case you need to feed or change your little one.
Appointments take place in my home, where I have a range of display frames that may help to guide your choices. Each solid wood frame and mount is made to order at our Babyprints framers in Bishops Stortford, so reliability and continuity of service and product is assured as your family grows. Even if it is years between visits. Babyprints can offer you the same high quality every time.
I also offer free standing statues, impressions, cold metal casts and a range of beautiful, solid silver hand and footprint jewellery. Our wide choice of products means you can always find the perfect gift or keepsake for any occasion, or budget, for those special people in your life.
Appointments must be booked in advance and are available Monday to Friday 9:30 – 4:00 and Saturday morning 9:30 – 12:30. Finished pieces are usually ready for collection within 4 – 6 weeks.
