People often look overseas for incredible sailing adventures. But honestly? The UK has some of the most diverse and rewarding sailing anywhere in Europe.

One week you could be sailing beneath towering cliffs in the Scottish Hebrides, spotting dolphins off the coast of Mull, or dropping anchor in the wild beauty of the Orkneys and Shetlands beneath endless northern skies. The next, you’re weaving through the turquoise shallows of the Isles of Scilly, exploring hidden Cornish coves, or sailing the historic harbours and rolling coastlines of Southern England.

Wild Atlantic swell. Quiet sea lochs. Remote islands. Bustling fishing harbours. White sand beaches. Rugged cliffs. Warm pubs at the end of the day.

Sailing around the UK never feels like just one kind of adventure because every coastline tells a completely different story.

And that’s exactly what makes it so special. Search for your UK sailing holiday with us today.

LAST MINUTE OFFER - Save 10% on a week's sailing in some of Scotland's most remote corners aboard expedition yacht Zuza, setting out from Ullapool this June.

The Summer Isles are a scatter of around 30 islands and skerries at the mouth of Loch Broom, sitting within a Marine Protected Area and largely untouched by tourism. As conditions allow, Zuza pushes further out to the Shiant Islands; dramatic basalt cliffs rising from the Minch, home to thousands of nesting puffins, razorbills, and guillemots.

Wildlife is exceptional throughout. Seals and porpoises are near-constant company, basking sharks cruise the surface on calm days, and white-tailed eagles patrol the clifftops overhead. At anchor in the evenings, with no light pollution for miles, the Milky Way stretches from one horizon to the other.

Zuza is fully crewed and full board throughout, with an onboard chef and private cabins below deck.

Hi, I’m Debs (part of the VentureSail Holidays team) and if you followed our stories a couple of weeks ago, you’ve probably already seen me popping up with my daily updates from aboard Steady on the Caledonian Canal.

And honestly? I think this voyage quietly stole a piece of my heart.
One minute you’re sailing across vast Scottish lochs beneath moody skies, the next you’re drifting through the stillness of the canal past forests, tiny villages, and ancient castle ruins with a mug of tea warming your hands, before helping to guide Steady through a series of locks.

With Loch Ness and Ben Nevis both prominent features along the voyage you’re surrounded by the quiet majestic scenery of Scotland all the way.

This trip was a reminder of how good it feels to properly slow down for a while, no rushing, no noise, just fresh air, good people, and the gentle rhythm of life on the water.

The best part? There’s still time to experience it for yourself as Steady has some availability on her return voyage through the Caledonian Canal from Oban to Inverness this September.
And trust me… Scotland under sail is something truly special.

Save 10% on an Arctic summer adventure - and spend nine days sailing and hiking the wilderness of Svalbard aboard a tall ship ❄

Halfway between mainland Norway and the North Pole, Svalbard in summer is something quite unlike anywhere else. The midnight sun stays up around the clock, and the wildlife - polar bears, walrus, whales, puffins - is at its most active. Ashore, the landscape is otherworldly: walk the edge of a tidewater glacier, explore abandoned Arctic settlements, and hike ridgelines with sweeping views over ice-filled bays.

Travelling by tall ship is also simply the best way to experience Svalbard. Wake up anchored in a glacier bay with no crowds, and nowhere else to be. When the wind allows, it's all hands on deck to hoist the sails; when it doesn't, you cruise quietly through the Arctic landscape with a coffee and the scenery to yourself. Guests can take the helm, climb the rigging beside a glacier, or simply watch the world go by from deck. On board you’ll find hearty home-cooked meals and a small group of like-minded travellers.

This is low-impact travel in one of the world's most fragile environments, done properly.

Set sail from Tahiti this summer, and discover somewhere most travellers never reach.
Expedition ketch Tecla leaves Papeete in July on a 16-day expedition sailing journey into the remote Austral Islands - French Polynesia’s wild southern archipelago, where volcanic peaks rise from the ocean, humpback whales pass by under sail, and tiny island communities still hold tightly to ancient Polynesian traditions.
Sail from Tahiti to places most travellers never reach: Raivavae, Tubuai, Rurutu and tiny Rimatara. Exploring reef-ringed anchorages, sacred Marae, and islands that feel a world away from the tourist trail, and arriving by sea is really the only way to reach them.
With only 12 guest berths and no fixed itinerary, this is the kind of voyage that feels genuinely adventurous. Life aboard Tecla is hands-on and sociable. Take the helm, learn to read the night sky, or simply sit on deck and watch the Pacific roll by; the crew will have you finding your rhythm quickly.
Honestly? This is the sort of trip I’d still be talking about years later.
So… this summer? Sail somewhere extraordinary. Find the full details in our bio.

There are plenty of reasons Greece makes sense this summer.

With the new EU entry tests paused, getting through the airport should feel a little easier. Flights into Athens remain frequent and good value, sunshine is practically guaranteed, and the welcome you’ll find in small harbours and waterside tavernas is as warm as ever.

But the real reason to go is what happens once you arrive. Days spent sailing between islands, swimming in clear bays, and discovering places that feel quieter than the busy hotspots ashore. Evenings shared over good food, watching the light fade across the water.

Sometimes the simplest reasons are the best ones.
Take a look at our Greece sailing holidays and see what’s possible this summer.
