I can’t quite believe it…

That’s another 7 days booked up by a lovely family in summer 2026!

It’s brilliant that people stay and love it so much they are coming back for more! I think the peace of the Barn and the location of the property really sells it. There is just so much to do around us, another trip is a must 😍

WHERE DO THE LOCALS LIKE TO GO IN CORNWALL?

We get this question quite a lot, but there are so many! We like to go everywhere you lot do!

We feel blessed that Cornwall is our home and there are lots of cracking spots, you really can’t go wrong.

I have listed a few of the places we like to go on the images, but, in most cases it isn’t where you go, it’s WHEN you go. We always recommend that guests start their day early to save precious holiday time wasted in traffic jams and queues.

Then, you can come back to the barn, siesta, and go out for an evening stroll and enjoy the sunset 🌅. Pure Bliss!

However, there is one place I will not give away! Can you guess where it is from the picture?!

Cornwall has so much for everyone, we hope you make some very special memories wherever you choose to visit 😍

SUMMER 2026 BOOKINGS HAVE BEGUN!

Yesterday evening my phone pinged with a booking request for summer 2026, exactly a whole year away.

Quite rightly, the family were keen to book as ‘the good ones go quickly’

This has prompted me to let our followers know that if they are super organised also and want to book their slot for summer 2026, 10 days have already gone!

We are hoping for a couple of improvements for next season, including electric vehicle charging and an updated bathroom, but I’ll keep you updated 👍.

Also, a shout out to all of our guests in summer 2025. We have had the best visitors and enjoyed sharing our little piece of Cornwall with you ❤️

We are BURSTING here!

2025 is turning out to be pretty successful in the allotment garden at

Starting to loose my way with it a bit as it comes towards the summer, but I’m glad I put the work in early on, it’s paid off!

Early pots are there for digging, last of the onions ready for pulling, tomatoes on their way, blackcurrants for days and you can always guarantee a marrow!

Lovely to see the guests enjoying our green spaces and taking away some ideas.

A good nudge to have a go at an update!

I’ve used a professional camera this time, which is so much harder than using my phone, but I’m hoping my efforts showcase the place better.

But to be fair, nothing is better than coming to see the real thing 😜

If you’ve stayed with us, you’ve probably noticed local artwork dotted around the place. When we first opened, my father helped me brighten up the walls, and now in addition, I have the pleasure of showcasing some pieces from talented Cornish crafter, The pieces in the let are available for purchase and one of a kind, but if you want to see more, you can give Anna a follow and/or pop to her Etsy page.

I buy with my heart and like to support local businesses trying to bring something wonderful and creative to the world. I hope our visitors enjoy them! See if you can spot the chosen hedgerow in some of our beautiful Cornish trails which are looking blooming wonderful right now!

Well done everyone, we made it to March!

There is a little rumour that March will be great ing us with back to back sunshine for the next 5 days at least, and boy, don’t we need it?!

⭐️⭐️ FEBRUARY HALF TERM OFFER ⭐️⭐️

I’ve just been looking through the diary and it seems 90% of the school holidays in 2025 are FULL!

But… FERUARY HALF TERM is available!

I can’t ever guarantee the weather, but if you are looking for stunning coastal walks, comfy beds, good coffee and delicious food, along with places to go that thrive in the winter (our dear seal sanctuary is at its busiest), February may be the perfect month for you!

To help make the decision even easier, I will be offering the let out at £99 per night during February half term, to include everything! This is for a minimum 5 night stay.

From all of us at Penhallow Retreat, we would like to wish every single runner of the UTMB Arc of Attrition 100, 50 and 25 the most wonderful journey over the next couple of days.

We may be biased, but we can’t think of a better place to race 😍.

Good luck to our guests who between them will be covering 200 miles! We also have a couple of Arc Angels staying with us, so a big shout out to them for their support.

We have some AofA royalty resting with us, so we are buzzing to see how they do!
