Using our point cloud surveys our clients are able to utilise the data to create visual 3D renders and models which can help showcase new design ideas and concepts, before any of the ground work has begun.

The beauty of using laser scanners for large dwellings such as these Methodist churches, are that the data collected will be accurate, efficient, and mitigates risk. Dangerous and hard to reach areas such as loft spaces, voids and basements, can be surveyed without the requirement for external resources.

Aerial photos from 2 of our site visits last week in the cracking weather we were treated with.
On the second visit we worked alongside the local airfield to safely conduct drone flights whilst working in close proximity to light manned aircraft.

Did you know as of April 2020 all rental properties need an EPC? If your property doesn’t have a valid EPC rating of ‘E’ or above, it cannot be legally let.

There was a potential scheme in place that by 2028 rental properties would need a EPC rating of 'C' and above, the Government also proposed raising the penalty for not having a valid EPC from £5,000 to £30,000 from 2028.

This scheme has since been scrapped. However we are striding to achieve a Greener more Carbon Neutral future, we anticipate higher EPC ratings being mandatory in the near future.

An up to date EPC can also aid in selling your home. Allowing potential buyers to understand how the property is currently performing.

By using UAV’s we are able to document the progress of large scale developments by making routine visits during different stages of the project.

We can also produce high resolution panoramic images allowing us to showcase large spaces or land in great detail, whilst following UK aviation rules and regulations.

A recent project of ours where we were asked to conduct a laser survey for a complex of 3 historical chapels dating back to the 1800’s.

Previously, this would have been a difficult task to perform, however by utilising laser scanning technology we were able to measure hard to reach places such as the roof and loft space, and measure all 3 buildings in great detail.

By methodically positioning our laser scanner around a dwelling, we are able to capture all the necessary data to create accurate floor plans and elevations.

The beauty of using a laser scanner compared to traditional surveying methods, is that we are able to access and measure hard to reach places without the requirement for ladders or scaffolding. On top of this, the point cloud produced from the survey allows us to virtually visit the dwelling as many times as required, without the expense of time and travel.

An introduction to our equipment.

To conduct our surveys we have been using Leicas next generation laser scanner, the BLK360 G2. At the push of a button, the scanner is capable of recording up to 680,000 points in a single second, this allows us to capture as much data as possible and carry out our surveys efficiently without compromising quality.

The BLK360 G2 is a fantastic piece of technology and is the perfect tool for areas such as historical and modern architecture, engineering and construction, building preservation and real estate.

For the past year we have been providing NHB Architectural Services with laser scanning surveys and point cloud data. From the surveys we are able to create accurate floor plans and elevations far more efficiently and effectively than previous methods of surveying. As well as surveying the surrounding environment, our laser scanner can produce 360 panoramic photos which can later be used for walk through tours, allowing clients to virtually visit their investment / property.
