From Copperhouse in Hayle to Copper Country in Michigan ⚒️🇺🇸
Today, we had the privilege of hosting an ancestry tour for our guests visiting from America. Their family story is one shared by so many: Cornish miners who left these shores for a new life in Calumet, Michigan.
We spent the day tracing their roots through the heart of the mining districts:
Visiting the family graveside at a quiet Cornish churchyard—a truly moving moment of connection. 🕊️
Exploring the rugged engine houses that their ancestors would have known so well.
Seeing the beautiful interiors of the parish churches where their family once gathered.
There is something incredibly special about standing exactly where your great-great-grandparents once stood before they crossed the Atlantic. We are so honoured to help bring these family histories to life!
