Bulleid Pacific 34053 ‘Sir Keith Park’ became the first steam locomotive hauling the first passenger train from Eridge over our new bridge yesterday.

Here the locomotive powers uphill over the bridge towards Tunbridge Wells West.

We’re open again today, Sunday, 19th April with 34053 & 31430 pulling our trains.

Volunteering at Merriments🌿

We want to start by saying a huge thank you to all our current volunteers. A lot of our volunteers have had some time off over the winter months, but it’s brilliant to start to see some of their faces again as the weather starts to improve 🥰

We currently have a smaller group who come in on Tuesdays and a larger group on Wednesdays. While we’re flexible and happy for volunteers to join us on other days, many people enjoy it as a social activity, so these days tend to be the most popular 🌿

We’re always looking for more helping hands, so if you’d like to get involved alongside like-minded people, we’d love to hear from you 🪴

Reasons to volunteer in our gardens:
👨‍🌾 Free lunch at Merriments Café
👨‍🌾 Learn and grow — gain hands-on experience with support from our professional gardeners
👨‍🌾 Be part of nature — enjoy fresh air and peaceful surroundings
👨‍🌾 Make a difference — help bring the gardens to life for the community
👨‍🌾 Meet like-minded people — join a friendly, passionate team

To get involved, email [email protected] and we’ll get back to you. If there’s a group of you interested in coming along, please do let us know!☺️

Great family event this weekend at the Spa Valley Railway and Kids go free with a paying adult.
