Lots of folk who have cruised for years keep telling me that things have gotten watered down over the years. I frequently hear things like "my cabin is only made up once a day" or "they don't leave chocolates on my pillow anymore" and "Dinner is not like it used to be" (with 5 and 6 courses previously the norm)
The list goes on but no one ever calls out the low entry price of a cruise compared to how it was 20 years ago.
The cruise lines have done a fantastic job at transforming what was once seen as an elitist holiday where you needed 2 suitcases just to be sure you had sufficient clothes to meet the dress codes!

Its been done in such a way that there is a cruise line / ship for everyone. Traditional old style cruising can still be found and is definitely worth trying if you enjoy a bit of formality / dressing for Dinner etc.
Mainstream cruising has got something for everyone and the biggest bonus is waking up somewhere new each day.

I've cruised on dozens of ships from 3 star to 6 star and happy to give advice or help to find the right cruise line and ship to fit your style.
