The o***m poppies are really stretching it out this year with some wayward seeds on the wind setting themselves on the edge of the drive.

Nature is so unpredictable at times.

They look fantastic against the backdrop of the orchard which has fruited really well this season.

We are fully booked for August now and September is kicking off strong.

When we first visited the display shepherds huts at Blackdown Shepherd Huts we were immediately blown away with the quality of the build and the many options available for the interior.

The tour of the factory was fantastic. From the main part where the structure is built to the various workshops where the windows and hand built kitchens were being made it was evident that this was a well run business using the best craftsmen and materials available

There were many options to choose for the final finishes and for the kitchen we chose the fantastic brass worktops from Inspired Metal Ltd

The delivery date we were given by Blackdown twelve months in advance was accurate to the day.

We could see why many boutique style hotels choose Blackdown as their preferred company to provide additional letting space within their grounds so it made them the easy choice for our project to provide quality rural tourist accommodation on our private plot within the beautiful North Wessex Downs National Landscape

Our guests have been very impressed with the quality and comfort of the hut. The bed is extremely comfortable and the ensuite has a fantastic shower to freshen up.

Whether it's during an evening walk down the lane or sitting in the private garden overlooking the field you won't be disappointed.

We have tried to make a tiny home from home for our guests.

That includes using local artists and craftspeople within our interior design.

Our literature within the hut provides details of where our decorative items come from should you wish to discover more for yourselves.

Currently featured on one of our walls is a fantastic painting of local landmark by local Salisbury based artist .fieber

Fred's work is fantastic.

For those who wish to turn the bed layout around from window view to wall view it's a lovely scene to wake up to.

If there are any local artists or craftspeople out their who wish to collaborate with us please get in touch and we would be happy to promote your talent to our guests.

With the lavender loving the hot summer here at Litet-Hem it's been a great year for the bees and butterflies that have defended on the blooms.

The nature around the site does have a very calming and relaxing effect on the soul.

A typical day at might go something like this............

Wake up to a beautiful sunny day to eat breakfast outdoors on the lower terrace listening to the bird song.

Then a day of exploring the stunning landscape of the where we recommend taking in the stunning vistas as you hike, walk or cycle around the nearby Pewsey Vale.

If your day out is a long one you can chase the beautiful sunsets at the end of the day.

Then if you are feeling lazy in the kitchen department we can highly recommend stopping by The Tipple Inn at the top end of the village where you will find a great selection of beers and ciders on tap along with wines and spirits and fantastic pub food at reasonable prices all in comfy cozy surroundings.

Then it's back for another comfy night's sleep maybe drifting off watching the stars through the panoramic roof light.

We are so lucky to be based in the beautiful North Wessex Downs National Landscape

Being a stones throw from the fantastic Pewwey Vale and thanks to being members of Visit Pewsey Vale our black book contains many leaflets with detailed maps for close by walks and cycle rides for all levels of stamina.

You will see some amazing landscapes which includes the famous white horses cut into some of the chalk hills.

We don't have much availability left in August and with bookings starting to take shape from September to December we currently still have good availability until the end of the year.

We really can't thank all of our guests enough who have stayed at this year so far. Your 5* Google feedback has been very much appreciated too.

Bookings have been very consistent since the beginning of February with August now having limited availability left

Incredibly we have already taken bookings in September, October, November and December so if you are thinking of a lovely rural break in our low season don't leave it to chance.

The autumn and winter landscapes in the beautiful really do come into their own especially waking up to a frosty morning and walking through the amazing close by woodlands full of autumn colours.

Our rates in the low season start from £ 337.00 per week and with our complimentary breakfast basket, ample tea, coffee, milk and sugar available you are getting a bed and breakfast stay in accommodation as good as any boutique hotel. The only difference being you will be accommodated on our gated private plot with parking right next door to the hut.

We have free WiFi included in our rates and a small Bluetooth speaker available to provide relaxing background music during your stay from your playlist but nothing beats trying out our record player with a selection of records from
