Crazy to think that it’s coming up for ten years since our two gorgeous holiday properties were completed.

Whilst Keeper’s is booked out for the summer, Stalker’s (right) has some availability and we’ve just introduced a short break option for July/August if you’re only able to escape for a few nights.

Sleeping six, this light, bright, contemporary styled house features a glass-fronted extension with glorious views down the glen.

With outside decking at the front and masses of seating in the rear garden, plus BBQ et al, we reckon it’s the perfect spot to unwind for a summer sojourn.

For fisherfolk, kayakers and wild swimmers, the loch is a mere two minute stroll away.

Stephanie, thanks for this truly glorious review. Salut 🥂❤️

“Love at first sight might be the perfect tagline for the River Cabin. Upon discovering the charming little house nestled at the bottom of the hill beside the river, one immediately senses that a truly exceptional experience awaits. The décor is exquisite, the bed supremely comfortable, and the peace and tranquility of the location are difficult to put into words. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”

With summer nearly upon us has just released its range of festival outfits and inspo accompanied by these photos taken at Straloch last year.

Recreating festival vibes in an empty field was a challenge but a few token hay-bales and loud tunes worked wonders.

Shot just below Bridgend Farm to the wonderment of bemused motorists passing by on the local road.

Stralochfest anybody? 🎏

We were delighted to welcome Climate Action Minister .allan.msp to Straloch this morning for a site visit of our highly successful rewetting project.

Joined by Lucy’s ma, Maggie, and our trusty adviser Richard Lockett (right), Dr Allen was able to see how we reconnected the Brerachan Water to its floodplain, restoring 25 hectares of outstanding, wildlife rich and varied wetland habitat.

This was all possible thanks to support from the Nature Restoration Fund which has financed hundreds of projects, to the tune of £65 million, helping Scotland’s species, woodlands, and rivers back on the road to recovery.

As the minister said: “It’s fantastic to see how the work that has been completed here at Brerachan not only enhances habitats by planting native riparian trees but also introduces meander bends to improve the river’s connectivity to its floodplains.”

One suspects the herons and kingfishers already spotted since the project’s completion are in full agreement.

Thank you and all involved 👏

Sure we have some fine views in these parts of Highland Perthshire but the landscape starts changing gears dramatically the further west you head.

Lucy and her ma are fresh back from a mini-roadtrip staying overnight with old pals near Glencoe. And this is the outlook from their house, would you believe.

It’s Torren Lochan, a hidden gem just off the Glencoe Road, famed for being the iconic location of Hagrid’s Hut in the Harry Potter film, the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Check those reflections, wowzers. And we thought our loch view was a little special 😀

Just discovered that today is World Land Rover Day. On 30th April 1948, an automative icon was born when Land Rover revealed their Series 1 at the Amsterdam Motor Show.

Perfect excuse to share a few pics of our classic Defender 110 along with some visiting wagons.

Our trusty steed is essential transport for ferrying guests to our remote bothy for gourmet Wild Picnics.

On which note, the inimitable wine connoisseur and Landy enthusiast (pictured with Smudge, obvs) is fast becoming a Straloch regular.

Three cheers for this most desirable and durable off-roader 🇬🇧

Cooper the Clydesdale, our burgeoning Facebook sensation, would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a mighty Happy Easter.

He’s in fine fettle, busy finding his feathered feet, and with heaps more growing to go, is in that gorgeous gangly stage🦒🦒

Loving this pic of newlyweds Hannah and Ed who spent their mini-moon at the River Cabin.

Married in Glasgow at the weekend, they hotfooted across to the hills for some much deserved, off-grid rest and relaxation.

We’d popped a celebratory bottle in the fridge not appreciating how poignant a tipple it is; turns out they were engaged in the Loire Valley, even visiting the Bouvet caves.

Huge congratulations to this gorgeous couple and wishing them many, many years of happiness ahead 🥂

(Note the obligatory Smudge photobomb)

Double celebrations, not only is it officially the first day of spring but also River Cabin, our glamping bolthole, opens its doors for the 2025 season.

As you can see from the bold interiors (ahem, little expense spared), this once simple fishing hut is now more boutique than bothy. Situated on the banks of a babbling burn it’s a solar powered, off-grid gem where you can switch off and be at one with nature. Highland escapism at its finest.

Even better, book a spring stay (April/May) at www.straloch.com and we’ll pop a bottle of bubbly in the fridge for your arrival. Perfect for that steamy soak in the wood-fired hot tub 🍾🫧

Our island on the loch is a favourite spot for holiday tenants whether toasting marshmallows on a makeshift fire, disrobing for a wild swim, or perching peacefully on this gorgeous stone bench for ten minute’s contemplation.

All looking mighty pretty in today’s sunlight. C’mon spring, you can do it….

A gorgeous pic of the first meeting between long-term Straloch resident, Rita, and new Clydesdale on the block, Cooper. Might just be the start of something really rather beautiful 💕
