Happy Yorkshire Day 2025!

Did you know that Newgate, where the Yorkshire Pudding recipe mural is located, was created in the early 1900s when the building, that what was a wine merchants and an inn were partially demolished to make way for a “New” thoroughfare!

At one time the Market Place was entirely surrounded by shops and houses, the only access being along Finkle Street, Market Street and Saville Street.
