What do you do when you are the richest man in North Wales in the 19th Century?

Simple. Build a castle

George Hay Dawkins-Pennant had a huge fortune due to owning Penrhyn Quarry, the largest slate quarry in the world at the time, and vast sugar plantations in Jamaica.

He spent the equivalent of £100m in today's money, and took 17 years to build the impressive, neo-Norman Penrhyn Castle on the North Wales Coast.

As well as being spectacular, it makes a great place for our guests from New Jersey & Ontario, to get out of the welcome, and much needed rain.

We have three Chauffeur Guides in North Wales today, through out the day all three will be in Llangollen.

One is on the last day of a 5 day tour around Wales, that started in Bath on Thursday. The day began in Caernarfon and our guests are taking a Canal Boat Tour along the Pontyscillite Aqueduct on their way to Liverpool.

A second is one the first day of a mammoth 11 day tour around Wales, and will be visiting the Aqueduct as they may their way to Llandudno.

The third is on Day 3 of a 7 day tour, that began at Heathrow. They started the day in Aberystwyth, and will be ending the day in Llangollen.

Over the last two days we have been entertaining our first ever guests from The Caribbean. They main thing they wanted to see what the Pembrokeshire Coast and "non-tourist trap" places.

So after meeting them on Monday, we headed to the Gower and stopped off at Bracelet Bay, Rhossili Bay & Laugharne on the way to their hotel outside Tenby.

Yesterday we took them tooK Barafundle Bay, Deer Park and Solva Woollen Mill, with a short stop for coffee, and a look round Pembroke.

They loved every minute, and we're blown away by the Pembrokeshire coast. Even describing Barafundle Bay as better than anything they had in Trinidad and Tobago!

Although our tours are all around Wales, we can start and end them anywhere in the UK. Like our latest 5 day tour with guests from California.

We met them from their cruise ship in Southampton this morning to bring them to Wales.

After spending a few days showing them around South Wales, we will be saying goodbye to them at Heathrow on Wednesday.

We're starting a new 5 day tour today. We met our Guests from Dallas when they arrived at Heathrow.

Before we venture into Wales, they wanted to spend a few hours looking around the impressive Blenheim Palace.

Whilst not in Wales, we were happy to oblige.

Wales is full of famous Waterfalls such as Swallow Falls, & Aber Falls in North Wales, and Henryd Falls in South Wales. Not as well known, but equally magical is Ceunant Mawr Waterfall
