I cannot thankyou all enough for helping me , free stuff , kind words , help , advice , motivation.
To all the wonderful people whom worked on the house thank you I will have a party for you all when I get my ass in gear I love you all .

Last few weeks of summer holidays, the heated swimming pool just behind our house will be put to bed early September.
The gardens are looking wonderful over an acre to relax , barbecue, star gaze by the fire pit .
When the children are back at school the adults can play .
Haltwhistle is two minutes wallk with shops , pubs and restaurants.
Hadrian Wall is great to walk now as main season is coming to end , All the nain Roman sites Hadrians Wall are within a couple of miles Vindolanda Roman Fort , Housesteads Roman Fort & MuseumRoman Fort etc .

We have been at Aintree this week with our retired racehorse Shaun .
If you’re a horse lover we have loads of horse pictures and paraphernalia.
Sinderhope Pony Trekking Centre is just up the hill
Hexham Racecourse is a short train ride
Carlisle Racecourse and Newcastle Racecourse also easy commute by train .
If you prefer your horse power a bit more zoom zoom our friends All Out Adventures Quad Biking Slaley Hall can sort some amazing days on quads , Segway’s etc .
Greystonedale is a beautiful mansion sleeping up to 14 in a wow gothic mansion
Bring your pooch we have a 1.2 acre walled garden . 🪴
Two minutes from loads of pubs , restaurants and shops . 🏬.

When I was watching National Hunt on Tv or feeding the beach ponies carrots 🥕 age 5 or Willing beloved Red Rum home in Grand National
Never in a million yrs did I think I’d be going to Aintree ( home of the Grand National) with my daughter and granddaughter and Shaun ( the race horse we bought on a hen do.)
Shaun qualified to to to Aintree BURGHAM INTERNATIONAL-THOROUGHBRED & EX-RACEHORSE SHOW .
We are on our way 4.5 hrs for 3 days of fun Championship
Thanks to my amazing Grandma Hettie .

Wow just along road .
Get your winter star gazing break booked .
We have some amazing dark Skys just up the hill on wall lots of places to see Northern Lights, shooting stars etc .
Come back to Greystonedale Mansion Holiday Retreat Haltwhistle for hot chocolate by the fire . Can it get any better.

Renovation it’s a mugs game ,
Not if you love it .
When I walked through the front door wow that was it love at first sight.
I absolutely love my hall thank you everyone whom helped make this happen.
I picked everything wall paper , saddles , horse pictures, mural all been orchestrated over yrs of collecting. Lovely Rachel gifted the wow mirror .
I bought the Venetian mirror of a dear friend.
The Coalbrooke spindles came from a Castle in Yorkshire via Bedlington.
The Newel post was a Christmas present from a church.
Carpet from Armstrong’s in Haltwhistle.
Ceiling rose is a copy of one in Bobby Robsons House 🏠. ( my grandfather picked him out as a scout )
Chandelier Hull ( market place £100 )
You can book any date left in Winter or 2026 season for 50 pounds for rest of August. After that 30 percent deposit get in touch for a great price sleep 14 .

We love a pub . We love a pub
Greystonedale is so lucky to have 4 pubs and a working men’s club and a licensed cafe and two hotels within five minutes walk .
The Jubilee is Haltwhistle own Flatiron building and a great sports bar .
The Railway has been refreshing weary travellers and locals since Victorian times . Lush
The Black Bull is possibly Haltwhistle’s oldest building and does food Thursday to Sunday.
Jethros is a favourite cafe where you can enjoy a drink 🥃 with your food 🥘.
The Manor and Centre of Britain are both Bastle Houses you have to look inside (secret passageways, tunnels and hidden staircases) and both serve food and drinks 7 days a week .
Brew bar serves coffee and food during day , beer and cocktails at night.
The Comerades club welcomes Visitors but if you’re here for a long stay they like you to take up membership.
British Pubs they are the life blood of any community you can get coffee s and non alcoholic refreshments.
Our visitors whether a hen do or family group or doctors celebrating end of term are loving the pubs .
As chairwoman of chamber of trade visitor spending makes me so happy.
After a day out nothing nicer than a drink and some bar snacks and a chat .
Support your local pub .
The Mile Castle Inn and Blenkinsopp Castle are a short drive and both do food and well worth the drive .
Lovely to come back to a gorgeous quirky gothic mansion with 13 mates .
We have had 6 bookings 2026 dates and autumn winter 2025 in last few days book your date for £50 pounds deposit in August nights start from £480 .

Bridgerton, Downtown Abbey , pride and prejudice, Peaky Blinders we all love a period drama . Imagine living your own for a weekend or mid week break .
We have has Flapper girl murder mystery, cowgirls Hen. Do , Peaky Blinders boys weekend.
You can walk to Haltwhistle and mingle with the local take in the waters .
You can don your bathing suits and have a dip in the heated outdoor pool .
There are lots of castles and statley homes nearby and Beamish Museum is 45 minutes away .

Castle Thirlwell is two miles away a beautiful ruin with buried treasure.
That’s I’d you want to leave our beautiful Gothic mansion stuffed with gorgeous things , games etc . Take a walk in our beautiful gardens. 1.2 acres .

Not only do we have a 14 gorgeous mansion full of fun .
We are two minutes from Haltwhistle stuffed to gunnels with independent shops , cafes , restaurants ,.pubs .
We are bang in centre of the best Roman sites and between Hadrian Wall
and North Pennines.
No wonder the bookings are ramping up .
It’s a massive thank you from us .
Remember our outdoor swimming pools are just behind Greystonedale .
Loads to visit nearby I’ve posted a small selection.
Every Thur in August there is a free history walk from Railway pub 10.30 am .

Family fun , returning guests , hen dos .
This week at Greystonedale .
We visited Vindolanda Roman Fort and
Gardens with Lilidorei .
We went magnet fishing in the river .
We had a fabulous day Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre a stones throw from the house .
We visited The Black Bull Haltwhistle and had treats from
Bonnie's , Jethros and bird cafe mmmm.
Haltwhistle is a two minute walk from our gorgeous 14 bed holiday let .
