Some rides are about taking it slow, while others let you enjoy long, fast canters in wide-open countryside 🏇💨

Bulgaria is definitely one for the second camp! Think open trails across the Devetaki Plateau, panoramic views and plenty of opportunities to pick up the pace, as well as some beautiful cultural and natural landmarks to discover too.

Last time, we hand-picked six of our more affordable riding holidays. This time, we’re heading in the other direction ✨

Here are four of our more luxurious riding holidays for if you fancy indulging a little on your next escape:

🦏 Ant’s Lodges, South Africa; Riding safaris on a private, malaria-free reserve, with rhino, giraffe, zebra and rare antelope to spot from the saddle. The riding can be tailored to suit you, and it’s also a great option for families and mixed groups.

A big thank you to Annemijn and Floor for sharing their feedback from their Big Five riding safari at Entabeni. They certainly got incredibly lucky spotting so much of Africa’s incredible wildlife along the way 🐘🦁🐎

Ever fancied following in the footsteps of General José de San Martín and crossing the Andes from Argentina into Chile? Well, not quite the same route, but you’ll certainly get a taste of the adventure🏔️

This is a proper expedition for adventurous riders, travelling through South America’s highest mountain range on horseback. Expect snow-capped peaks, sweeping valleys, narrow mountain paths and fast-flowing rivers, with guanacos, vizcachas and condors all possible along the way.

For six nights, your home is a tent beneath vast Andean skies, with days spent in the saddle crossing rugged mountain paths, sweeping valleys and fast-flowing rivers.

It’s wild, remote and a world away from an ordinary riding holiday that will leave you with plenty of stories to tell on your return!

If you’re starting to think about winter and fancy a proper winter experience, 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐋𝐚𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 might be just the trip for you ❄️

Ride Icelandic horses through snowy forests and open tracks, with the quiet of the Arctic wilderness all around you. Away from the horses, there are snowmobile rides, traditional reindeer sleighs and a visit to the famous Ice Hotel.

Evenings are spent around the fire, with the chance to learn more about Sami culture and enjoy fire-cooked food, which makes for a very different kind of riding holiday.

If perfecting your dressage is on the list, there’s no better place to start than learning from the best in Spain 💃🏻

We offer a range of dressage trips, from focussed training holidays with dedicated professional instructors including Olympic medallist Rafael Soto, to less intense programmes that combine training with time to explore and enjoy the destination.
