Name a better spot for a family holiday to Thailand...

This one ticks all the boxes

✔️3 minutes walk from Fisherman's Village
✔️Two bedrooms (one with bunk beds!)

In my opinion, this is the best spot on Koh Samui - just 20 minutes from the airport, Bophut is probably the most family-friendly resort on the island. The atmosphere is relaxed, the golden sand stretches on for 3km. At this end you're right next to Fisherman's Village - a collection of beautifully preserved Chinese wooden shophouses, cute boutiques, and incredible street food (I had the best pad thai from here 10 years ago for less than £1!) 🍜

On an evening think relaxed vibes - a spot of shopping at the weekly night market, then settle into a beanbag on the beach and watch an open-air movie, or head to Coco Tam's to watch the nightly fire show🔥

I love coming to the end of the summer season. After all the frenzy of getting everybody off on their Mediterranean holidays, my reports for ‘balances due’ and ‘tickets due’ start changing from Greece & Spain to Thailand & the Maldives.

And while I genuinely love seeing all of my clients head off to all sorts of wonderful places around the world, there’s something I particularly enjoy about this time of year — when the tailormade long-haul trips start coming back into focus.

I love speaking to people about those slightly more far-flung places they’re about to experience for the first time, and pulling together all of the individual working parts that make a tailormade holiday feel truly unique.

Before starting To Wander The World, I worked in a fast-paced independent agency where I specialised in trips to the Far East and Australia. It’s only since starting out on my own that I’ve become so much more involved in family travel.

Many of my clients have children who have been growing up alongside my own boys, and while they’re little, European holidays can be such a brilliant way to travel as a family. But I’m now finding myself sending many of those same families away on their first long-haul adventures together.

There’s something really special about returning to destinations I know so well, but experiencing them through my clients’ eyes — and seeing families discover that travelling further afield with children can be every bit as exciting, rewarding and achievable as they imagined.

So, if you’ve been wondering whether now might be the time to take that bigger trip, explore somewhere completely new, or finally make that long-haul holiday you’ve been talking about a reality… I’d love to hear from you.

Kids are back to school... Drizzle has returned... Pumpkin Spice is back... Normal service has resumed after an amazing summer😆

After 5 weeks in Spain we manged to squeeze in one final little festival last weekend (my back still isn't thanking me for that)

I'm back at my desk full time from this week - if you can't bear to say goodbye to summer 2026 just yet then there's plenty of last-minute deals to be had across Europe! Now is also the time to start planning in long-haul trips for summer 2027 to secure the best flights and availability on those routes.

We are 5! 😎🥳

Today marks five years since I started trading as To Wander The World! 🌍

Just one year earlier the travel industry was in tatters from the pandemic. My oldest, Rudy, was about to turn one and I had just found out we were expecting our second baby, and just a month after that I would be handed my redundancy notice from a job I had loved so much. That year was one of the hardest times, but with determination and a vision to build my own little corner of the travel world, To Wander The World was born, just 4 months after little Frankie!

It hasn't been without bumps in the road - we've had prolonged travel restrictions to contend with after Covid, wildfires across Europe, and wars in the Middle East, but in spite of it all, it's still the best job in the world ❤

Today we are celebrating overcoming all difficulties put in front of us to find happiness the other side, and hoping that 5 years from now we will be looking back on all the amazing holidays my lovely clients will soon experience - from honeymoons to retirement celebration trips. I'm looking forward to it all!
