🌰 In Loving Memory of Wakefield’s Chestnut Man 🌰

If you ever walked through Wakefield city centre, you probably saw Allan Jones β€” better known to many as The Chestnut Man. Always with a smile and a kind word, Allan was a local legend, selling roasted chestnuts and sharing his unique sense of humour for decades.

But behind the jokes was a man with a huge heart. Allan was a true friend to animals, especially rescue dogs, and a cherished part of our community.

We’re proud to have dedicated a plaque in his memory β€” now in place on his favourite pitch β€” a small tribute to a man who left a big impact.
