💚 Thinking about the Seychelles for a future escape? Let me tempt you… 💚

I have been out and about recently, meeting with the Seychelles tourist board and hoteliers, and it has really put these beautiful islands firmly on my radar for honeymoons, anniversaries and special family holidays.

The Seychelles is made up of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, with a mix of granitic islands (those famous boulders on the beach) and coral atolls with brilliant snorkelling straight from the shore. Mahe, the main island, has over 65 beaches, botanical gardens, local markets, beautiful churches and around 12 hiking and walking trails, so there is plenty to explore beyond the sun lounger.

🌴 Best way to experience the Seychelles
The ideal way to see the Seychelles is to island hop:
• Combine Mahe with Praslin and La Digue
• Mix a granitic island with a coral island for a totally different feel
• Hop between islands by short domestic flights, ferries or even a helicopter for a special occasion

From Praslin you can visit the Vallée de Mai (home of the coco de mer) and take a quick boat over to La Digue for a proper Robinson Crusoe vibe, exploring by bicycle and relaxing on some of the world’s most photogenic beaches.

🌞 Best time to visit & easy add-ons
The Seychelles is a year-round destination with warm temperatures, but many people love April–May and October–November for calmer seas and great visibility for snorkelling and diving. It is also an ideal destination to add after an African safari or as a stop after a few nights in Dubai if you fancy a city-and-beach combo.

Thinking about something a bit different for your next Caribbean escape? Let me introduce you to Aruba 🇦🇼✨

Not many people can even point to Aruba on a map. It is part of the Dutch Caribbean in the southern Caribbean and, helpfully, outside the hurricane belt. Think white-sand beaches, turquoise water, (almost) constant sunshine and a really warm, laid-back local vibe. The islanders call that feeling the Aruba Effect and it is easy to see why once you arrive.

I travelled to Aruba with Charlie a few years back and absolutely loved it. We stayed in a simple, low-rise hotel just a few steps from one of the most amazing beaches I have ever set foot on. It was not super fancy, but it was perfect for getting out and about, and the locals were so friendly. The island is small, easy to explore and ideal if you like to mix beach time with a bit of adventure.

I was lucky enough to travel to Saint Lucia on a work trip, where I visited 16 hotels and stayed at 4 different properties in just 7 days. It was a full-on week of site inspections, wedding venue visits and experiencing the island on both land and sea. Already thinking about Christmas…but still not quite booked anything? There is still time for Christmas 2026 🎄✨

It is October now, so we are into that “last chance but still doable” window. There are pockets of availability for some really lovely Christmas breaks, but the good options are booking up quickly, especially for families and popular dates.

A few ideas for Christmas 2026 inspiration:

☀️ Winter sun escapes
If you would rather be by a pool than in a puffer coat, think Canary Islands, Dubai, Mexico or the Maldives. Warm sunshine, palm trees, ocean views and lazy pool days instead of icy pavements and dark afternoons. Perfect if you want to totally switch off and come back recharged for January.

🎿 Snowy adventures
For that storybook Christmas feel, how about the Austrian Tyrol, Swiss Alps or French Alps? Think twinkling lights, pretty villages, Christmas markets, snowy forests and days spent skiing, sledging or just strolling with a hot chocolate in hand.
