One cottage. So many places to pull the walking boots on.

Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder Water & Forest, the Northumberland coast and the Simonside Hills are all waiting to be explored — and the Lake District is within reach for a day out too. ⛰️

Whether it’s ten miles or just a gentle wander with a good view, there’s always somewhere new to go.

Then back to Bridge End Cottage, boots off and feet up. 🏡🍷

One of the lovely things about staying at Bridge End Cottage is having places to eat right here in Wark.

The Battlesteads is a lovely option for Sunday lunch — enjoy a relaxed meal, perhaps a glass of wine, then wander back through the village to the cottage. 🍷🏡

No driving, no rushing… just a proper Sunday afternoon. 🤎

With the original stone fireplace at the heart of the room, this is one of those places made for putting your feet up after a day out exploring Northumberland. 🏡

🦇 An unexpected cottage guest!

Our guests woke up this morning to find a bat roosting on the gable end of the cottage! 🦇🏡

Tucked safely against the old stonework, this little visitor had found the perfect spot for a daytime snooze after a busy night.

One of those lovely little reminders of the wildlife we share our countryside with — and certainly not the guest they were expecting to meet at breakfast! 🌿
