The 'World's Best All-Inclusive' is reducing its minimum stay to just 3 nights on selected dates this autumn. So I just had to put together this fabulous city-hopping & luxury beach itinerary to make the most of it... πβοΈ
If you happen to find yourself with a little window in your diary this October, it could just be that this Andalusian rail adventure ticking off Seville, Granada and the sublime Ikos Resorts Andalusia is calling your name.
These areas work so well together as they deliver you straight into the blue skies of Southern Spain for sun-kissed autumnal days exploring these beautifully romantic locations. Plus easy direct trains between cities means travel days that are less stress, and more sitting back as you roll through the soaring mountains, undulating olive groves and sleepy towns of inland Spain.
You'll start with direct morning flights from Manchester to Seville staying for 4 nights in a chic 4* with super reviews in the city's charming Triana neighbourhood.
Seville is gorgeous at any time of year, but at its best once the crowds subside and the temperatures mellow. The perfect introduction to the region's sensational Moorish history, the city centre is magically golden in colour with narrow streets alive with tapas bars and magnificent palaces and plazas. As well as discovering Seville, I've also included day return rail tickets to the spectacular city of Cordoba, home to an enormous 8th century mosque and beautiful streets and patios decked out in flower-filled plant pots πΊ
After Seville, you'll take a direct train to Granada next for 3 nights at a 5* hotel set in the shadow of the incredible Alhambra Palace. A masterpiece of Moorish style with tranquil pools, tinkling fountains and manicured gardens, the heart-stopping Alhambra is raised up above the city offering aerial views across the its warren of ancient streets and dramatic mountains. This part of Spain is the beating heart of Flamenco, so I've included tickets to a typical Flamenco show in an atmospheric tablao bar on one of the evenings. I did this at New Year and you can't not be stomping your feet and shouting 'OlΓ©!' by the end!
You're finishing on a high with a train from Granada to Malaga and private transfer from the station across to jet-set Estepona. You'll check in for 3 nights of complete and utter R&R at the beautiful Ikos Andalusia with an unlimited all-inclusive package that ticks off everything from nine exquisite restaurants (the kind with Michelin-starred menus paired with 100 premium wines) to complimentary use of a Mini Countryman - if you can be dragged away from your plush sun lounger... π
