25 years ago today, the world changed forever.

I can still remember exactly where I was. I was Cabin Crew at the time and had been out shopping. I came home, put the TV on and the first plane had just hit the North Tower. The news was showing the shocking images and at first, none of us really understood what we were watching.

I sat down in disbelief… and four hours later I was still sitting there, my shopping bags still at my feet.

Like so many people, I will never forget that day. The disbelief, the confusion, the fear and then the sheer horror of what was unfolding before our eyes.

25 years on, the events of that day are still etched in our memories. We remember the people who lost their lives, the families who lost loved ones and all those who ran towards danger to help others.

Some moments in history change the world forever.

This was one of them.

Yesterday I had the loveliest surprise arrive at my door, these beautiful flowers from a very valued client. 🌸

And honestly, I really wasn’t expecting them.

My client was travelling to Italy for a family wedding. She’d already booked her flights but had come to me to arrange the car hire and hotels for her trip.

Then, on Bank Holiday Monday, her EasyJet flight to Pisa was cancelled.

Cue the panicked phone call! 😳

She was understandably worried, not knowing what to do or how she was going to get to the wedding. I jumped straight on it and managed to find her alternative flights later that day, this time flying into Bologna, and then changed the car hire over to the new airport.

She arrived a few hours later than planned, but most importantly… she made it to the wedding!

The flowers arrived yesterday, and they honestly made me a little emotional. It was such a lovely, unexpected gesture and I’m incredibly touched that she thought to send them.

It’s moments like this that remind me why I love my job. Yes, I love creating and booking lovely holidays, but sometimes it’s the “HELP, MY FLIGHT HAS BEEN CANCELLED!” moments when you really get to make a difference.

And luckily, on this occasion, we got her there. 💗
