Along with all the usual stuff we have also delivered our fair share of bespoke events from wandering around cities, guided mountain days to support in bagging the last of the Welsh 3000’s to supporting others in training for other events. Do you know what? It doesn’t matter what we’re doing, come rain or shine if it’s outside or on a mountain we love every minute.

Along with our adult guiding we’ve been trekking all over the country delivering expeditions for those young people taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. It’s taken us to too many places to list but it was a real pleasure to finally get back to ‘normal’ expeditions as this was the first full year of Covid free changes and getting getting back to some of the places we know and love.

We’ve been to Morocco 3 times this season including a trip with 30 young people completing their International Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Adventurous Journey.

From the dizzying heights of Toubkal to the madness of Marrakech it’s been an absolute blast. We can’t wait to return early 2027.

For those taking the slightly longer route to 3 peaks and bagging them over 3 days it’s been by no means less epic. The challenge is still real and the views just as good but the main thing is, after each peak you get a bed for the night and a pint (of Coke, other refreshing beverages are available) rather than a minibus seat straight to the next peak 😂

Slightly slower pace to suit and multiple stops at that bakery shop we all know and love for a steak bake means it’s a more pleasurable option for tackling the UK’s highest mountains unless l, you’re really comfortable with being uncomfortable in which case, the 24hr challenge was for you.

As the season ends and the throws of autumn are well and truly upon us it’s been an epic 8 months.

Our 3 Peaks this year have been warm but also included some damp cloudy days. High pressure doesn’t always meen cracking the flags in the hills. Our challenges also included impromptu lifts in work vehicles (do not ask 😂) and epic views across the UK. Our teams have been faster than ever with record numbers coming in within 24hrs.

We popped to Cadair Idris yesterday and it was rather nice, a bit of steep ground, take force winds and epic views. It’s definitely autumn!

Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.

Most of the work for it happens long before you reach the first summit.

If you book now, you have the whole winter to build your fitness, try your kit out on a few long days on the hills, and get your fundraising started if you’re doing it for a cause. When the season comes round you’ll be ready for it, and you won’t be squeezing the training into the last few weeks.

The popular weekends always go first, so it’s worth picking yours early.

As the sun set on this Sunday afternoon that draws an end to our 2026 National 3 Peaks season. Buses will be moving onto their winter jobs until the spring when we’ll be back heading to Fort William for another round of peak bagging!
