We're shining the employee spotlight on Sian Dunn!

Over the last 12 months, the Network Engineering team has seen 13 internal promotions, a testament to Telent’s ongoing commitment to investing in people and nurturing talent.

From engineers progressing into senior roles to individuals transitioning from non-technical backgrounds into engineering, these career journeys are powered by learning, collaboration, and support.

Supporting the Future of the Forces | Armed Forces Day 2025

With taking place tomorrow, we’re spotlighting Sean Kelly, Senior Engineer and former Royal Signals serviceman, who now volunteers as a Squadron Leader with the Air Cadets. After a 15-year Army career, Sean continues to give back inspiring young cadets and helping to build the leadership and resilience skills that once launched his own journey.

“Cadet life gave me the confidence and direction to thrive in the Army and beyond. Volunteering helps me return the favour and support the next generation.”

At Telent, knowledge-sharing is essential to our success and something we actively practice. This year, Amardeep Dhillon and his team launched an engineering ‘lunch & learn’ series that’s grown far beyond expectations, reaching over 1,000 colleagues in just nine weeks.

The sessions have become a space for teams to connect across roles and regions, share expertise, and highlight cutting-edge work happening across the business. From cloud solutions to real-time infrastructure challenges, the topics have sparked collaboration, accelerated problem-solving, and even opened new career opportunities.

“We expected a couple of dozen people to join. Instead, we’ve created a learning community where people now come forward to present, share ideas, and connect. It’s reducing delays and building stronger networks across Telent.”

One highlight? A session on precision timing protocols that sparked useful discussions about real-world use and customer impact especially timely, as a major outage hit European utilities just weeks later. These conversations are now driving technical awareness and resilience across our teams.

This initiative shows how curiosity, shared knowledge and informal leadership can help shape better outcomes for our people, our customers, and the industries we operate in.

Celebrating Excellence at The Talent Labs Awards 2025!

Last Thursday, members of Telent’s Talent Acquisition team attended the Talent Labs Awards 2025, where we were proud finalists in the Medium Recruitment Team of the Year (6–25) category.

It was an inspiring evening celebrating the best in recruitment and talent innovation across the UK. We were honoured to stand alongside some of the industry’s most forward-thinking and impactful teams.

While we didn’t take home the trophy this time, the recognition reflects the outstanding dedication, collaboration, and impact our team has delivered this year from strategic hiring and cost savings, to diversity, early careers, and digital innovation.

We’re shining the spotlight on Raj Nijjar, a Graduate Project Manager who has recently made the exciting move to our Rail team, working on SCADA and TPCMS railway control systems integrations at Crewe and Lewisham.

Raj joined Telent through our Graduate Scheme, drawn by our focus on technology and innovation. With a background in Architecture and a Master’s in Construction Project Management, she’s passionate about creating impact across industries and building a multi-skilled career.

“I’ve always had a passion for Construction, Architecture, and Technology. Telent offered a unique opportunity to explore all of that within one company, and I’ve loved every second of it.”

During her first placement in Network Services, Raj successfully led her own project, coordinating between a university and a software provider driving it close to completion and making a real impact for students.

Raj is also committed to giving back through our social value projects, dedicating weekly time to support community initiatives alongside her project work.

“My advice to anyone starting out: take every opportunity that comes your way. Say yes, get involved and you’ll grow in ways you didn’t expect.”
