If you are travelling to Hesperus Lodge between 15 June and late September from North or East of us you need to be aware that Junction 26 at Wellington will be closed. Although they are directing traffic off at Taunton at J25, I recommend you carry on along the M5 to J27 (Tiverton) and come back along the A38. Sorry for the inconvenience!

It was a pleasure to host our local primary school today as they partook in Fishing for Schools and learnt all about the life in our rivers. It was also good to hear from the experts that our river is unpolluted and teaming with life. Whilst we provided biscuits for the children the braver ones decided to try mealworms from the bird seed! Only primary school kids, eh?!

On the lane outside the lodge are all these webs hiding and protecting hundreds of tiny caterpillars! How do they get out once they grow wings?

We have put a new mattress and a thick memory foam mattress topper on the bed today. It’s like a princess and the pea bed. (Hopefully you are NOT a princess and won’t feel the pea!). There are still 2 weekends available in April and the weather is looking great.
