A big new chapter starts here ✈️🌍

I’m beginning my training with Travel Counsellors to become a tour operator, rather than simply booking holidays created by somebody else.

But what does that actually mean for you?

It means we’ll be able to work directly with trusted local experts in destinations around the world to create holidays completely around you.

We can handpick your hotels, transfers, tours and experiences, then package everything together into one seamless, financially protected journey.

So perhaps you’d like a safari followed by a few days in Cape Town, a private guide to show you the hidden gems, or something special arranged for a birthday or anniversary. Instead of finding the closest match in a brochure, we can create it for you.

And because there isn’t another tour operator sitting between us and the local experts, we can add those personal touches while keeping the price incredibly competitive.

More choice. More flexibility. More memorable experiences. All with one point of contact looking after everything for you.

This is exactly where we want to take Expand & Explore, and I’m so excited about what we’ll be able to create for our clients 💫

Where in the world would you love us to design a completely bespoke journey for you?

Not the most glamorous part of cruise planning, perhaps, but one of the most important. 💙

This is just one page from our Complete Cruise Companion, which will be ready very soon.

Accessible cruising is about far more than choosing an accessible cabin. It is about choosing the right ship, cabin location, itinerary and ports, arranging the correct assistance and making sure the cruise line has accurate information about your needs.

It can even be about whether you are allowed to board.

We personally know people who have arrived at the cruise terminal and been refused boarding because their needs had not been properly declared or the cruise line could not safely accommodate them. It is heartbreaking, but it can happen.

That is why we ask detailed questions and encourage complete honesty from the very beginning. Not to make things difficult, but to help protect your holiday and ensure the right arrangements are in place.

Our Complete Cruise Companion is packed with honest advice, practical tips and everything we wish we had known before our first cruise, drawn from more than 50 cruises and years of helping people find the right holiday.

Comment CRUISE if you would like a copy when it is ready.

Save this post for later and share it with someone who may find it useful. 💙

Peter’s Tuesday Tip 🚢✈️

Before you press BOOK on a holiday you’ve found online, do this…

Send it to us.

Seriously. That’s the tip. 😂

We know how people book holidays these days. You’ve been scrolling, comparing, reading reviews and suddenly you find the one.

The hotel looks gorgeous.
The price looks good.
The dates work.

Your finger is hovering over that BOOK button…

Send it to us first.

You don’t lose anything by asking.

We can take a look at exactly what you’ve found and check:

🔎 Is the price genuinely good once everything is included?

✈️ Are the flight times and airports as convenient as they first appear?

🧳 Is luggage included?

🚗 What about transfers?

🏨 Is the room or cabin actually the one you think you’re getting?

📍 Is the location right for the sort of holiday you want?

💷 Are there extras you’re going to end up paying for later?

🚢 If it’s a cruise, is it the right ship, itinerary, fare and cabin for you?

And sometimes we’ll look at it and say:

“Yep. That’s a really good deal.”

Brilliant.

Sometimes we’ll spot something you hadn’t noticed.

Sometimes we might find an option we think suits you better.

And sometimes we can match the holiday you’ve found while also giving you the personal service and support that comes with booking through us.

Someone you actually know to call if you need help, rather than joining a call centre queue and explaining everything from the beginning.

We’re not here to talk you out of the holiday you’ve found.

We’re here to make sure it’s the right one before you spend your money.

So Peter’s Tuesday Tip this week is possibly his simplest yet:

Before you click BOOK, ask us.

Send us the screenshot, link or details and let us have a look.

It costs you nothing to ask.

Tips Tuesday with Peter 🍹 — the drinks package edition

Worth it or not? My honest answer: it depends, and I will show you on WHAT it depends in under a minute.

(For the record: Peter's 'drinks package' at home is coffee, tea, and a biscuit for Bovey and Oreo. Big spender.)

Save this for your next cruise quote — and if you want us to run the maths for you, just ask. That's the job.

WHAT DO TWO BORDER COLLIES, A TRAVEL BUSINESS, AN OREO BISCUIT AND A TABLET HAVE IN COMMON? 🤔🍪🐾

30/08/2026

🍪🐾 Something rather special is coming for our clients…

We wanted our booking thank-you gift to feel a little bit different. Something personal, a little bit fun, and very Expand & Explore.

So, naturally, Bovey & Oreo got involved. 😂

Our official Biscuit Inspectors now have their very own biscuits, handmade especially for us and personalised with our Expand & Explore and Biscuit Inspector designs.

But what makes them even more special is that they are made with love by Beautiful Biscuits, our daughter’s company here in France. ❤️

That meant we were lucky enough to watch the whole process from start to finish, from rolling the dough and baking the biscuits to the icing, decorating and printing of every single one.

These little boxes will be making their way to our clients when they book their holidays with us, because we want the excitement to start from the moment you say YES to your holiday.

And obviously, no Expand & Explore booking is officially approved until it has passed inspection. 🐾

Azamara is probably our favourite way to step into the luxury end of cruising. ❤️

Not because the ships have the biggest cabins. They don’t.

And yes, we’re going to say it… the bathrooms still have bamboo shower curtains rather than glass doors. 😂

But would that stop us sailing with them again? Not for a second.

Because Azamara is one of those cruise lines where the magic is incredibly hard to explain until you’ve experienced it.

The ships are just the right size. Small enough to feel intimate, get into more interesting ports and stay later in destinations, but big enough that there is still plenty going on onboard.

And the service is exceptional.

Within no time, crew members know your name. Walk up to the bar and there’s a very good chance they already know what you’re going to order. You’re not made to feel like one of hundreds of passengers. Somehow, it starts to feel like you’ve joined one enormous family.

It’s relaxed luxury rather than stuffy luxury, which is exactly why we love it.

And so much is included too, including selected alcoholic drinks, gratuities, dining, room service and Azamara’s brilliant destination-focused experiences.

At the moment there’s also up to $1,000 onboard credit per stateroom on selected sailings.*

So if you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to try a more luxurious cruise, but I’m not sure I’m ready for ultra-luxury prices,” Azamara is one we’d genuinely suggest looking at.

We wouldn’t recommend it because a brochure tells us to.

We recommend it because we’ve sailed with them and we know how it feels.

Message Amanda & Peter if you’d like us to find an Azamara sailing that would suit you.

*Offer and onboard credit vary by sailing, departure date and stateroom category. Terms apply.

Peter’s Tuesday Tips is back! 🚢

This week, Peter is answering one of the questions we get asked ALL the time:

“When is the best time to book a cruise?”

And Peter’s slightly annoying answer is…

It depends. 😂

📅 BOOK EARLY if…

You’ve got your heart set on a particular sailing, you want a specific cabin or cabin location, or you need something with limited availability such as family or accessible accommodation.

The earlier you book, the more choice you’re likely to have.

💰 WAITING CAN work if…

You’re genuinely flexible.

If you don’t mind exactly when you travel, which ship you sail on or where your cabin is, there can sometimes be some great opportunities later on.

But there’s something else we always look at…

The cheapest fare isn’t necessarily the best value.

Once you start comparing what’s actually included, the answer can look very different.

So Peter’s rule is:

Decide what matters most to YOU.

💷 Price
🚢 Choice
📅 Flexibility

You rarely get all three at once.

And that’s one of the reasons we don’t believe there’s a single “best time” for everyone to book a cruise. It depends on you and what matters most to you.

If you’re watching a particular cruise and wondering whether to book it or hold your nerve, ask us. We’re very happy to take a look.

So, why exactly are Bovey & Oreo called The Biscuit Inspectors? 🍪🐾

Oreo was, rather obviously, named after a biscuit.

And both boys consider themselves extremely well qualified in the consumption of biscuits of every variety. Dog biscuits, human biscuits… they’re really not fussy.

Which means that whenever either of them needs medicine, I do what any sensible dog owner does.

I hide the tablet inside a biscuit.

I’ve even been known to carefully pull an Oreo apart, tuck the tablet into the cream, put it back together and hand it over looking incredibly pleased with myself.

And somehow…

These two can put the WHOLE biscuit into their mouths, chew it, swallow every last crumb and then casually spit the completely untouched tablet onto the floor.

HOW?

It’s honestly one of their greatest talents.

And that is how The Biscuit Inspectors were born.

Recently I was thinking about something lovely we could send our clients with their booking documents.

Then I remembered that my daughter, who lives in France, makes the most gorgeous handmade iced biscuits.

Cue eureka moment.

The official Expand & Explore client biscuits are now being baked in France as I write this.

They freeze beautifully, so we’ll have a little supply ready for future bookings.

And yes, naturally, they have been approved by management.

Well…

They will be once Bovey and Oreo get hold of one.

This is an AI mock-up of what they’re going to look like.

What do you think? 🍪
