Travel was the reason I said yes.
I’ve loved it for as long as I can remember. During my years in musical theatre, I loved performing—but I also loved the movement of that life: new theatres, new places and never quite knowing where work might take me next.
So when I was first shown the travel business, I joined for the travel side. I wanted to learn how the industry worked, train to book travel professionally, earn commission on bookings and help other people plan holidays they would genuinely enjoy.
At that point, I wasn’t particularly interested in the team-building side. That curiosity came later.
There are really two parts to what I do.
The travel side: I research destinations and suppliers, compare suitable options, book travel and remain there to support my clients before and after they go.
The team-building side: I’m learning how to explain the business clearly, have honest conversations and support people who decide they would like to build something of their own alongside the life they already have.
That second part is still newer to me. I’m doing the training, practising how to talk about it in my own words and learning how to mentor people without pressure or inflated promises.
All of this sits alongside my dance school, examining and adjudicating. It hasn’t replaced the work I already love; it has added another option to my working life.
So, in simple terms: I help people book their travel, and I’m learning how to support others who are curious about doing the same.
No hype. No pressure. Just something I’m building honestly—and something I’m very happy to talk about if you’ve ever wondered what it actually involves. ❤️
