The best may yet be to come...
As we wave goodbye to July & August and the summer school holidays, the sun starts to lower and the days shorten… but fear not - there‘s an amazing amount to look forward to in Looe & Polperro this autumn.
It call kicks off on September 14th with the Looe Food & Drink Festival - a one-day event on Buller Quay, in East Looe, with live chef demos in a huge marquee and over 20 food & drink vendors to graze your way through along the quayside. It’s FREE entry and runs from 10am - 6.30pm.

September 19th - 21st - the Looe Weekender is back in town for the 4th year with just shy of 100 performances across 17 venues in East Looe, West Looe & Hannafore. This is one of the SW’s largest FREE live music events - organised by the community, for the community & visitors (and if you arrive on the 18th, there are a few warm up gigs too!).

October 1st - 5th - Looe Festival of Words returns for the 2nd year, with a host of events and activities for everyone that loves words. With an eclectic line up from quizzes & poetry, to a book fair & guided walk.

November 8th the annual Polperro Fireworks Display and Bonfire will light up the skies over Peak Rock and the Harbour with one amazing display. Keep an eye on their page for announcements on the lighting time for the bonfire (and there’s usually free parking for the evening too).
November 28th, Looe Town Council hosts the annual Lantern Parade & Lights Switch On. The parade of lanterns & lights leaves the Millpool and heads its way over the bridge & through Fore Street, ending on the seafront with community carols, the arrival of Santa and a spectacular burst of fireworks from the Banjo Pier, when the lights around the harbour & seafront are switch on.
December 6th, it’s the turn of Polperro and a day of fantastic fun & entertainment for Polperro Christmas Lights switch on. Keep a eye on their page for the line up of events and the time when the switch on takes place.
With a host of events coming together for Christmas In Looe (from the Elf Hunt to carol concerts) - one of the most twinkling nights of the year will be the Pelynt Young Farmers Tinsel Tractor Run on December 21st - and this year promises to be the biggest one yet!
….. and then round of 2025 with the two amazing Looe NYE Fireworks displays at 6pm & Midnight. Fired from the Banjo Pier - its our exclamation mark to see out the old and in with 2026.
So the peak season may be over, but we’ve still got lots of our sleeves for the final quarter of the year!
