Have just spent a long weekend NH Marina Portimão Resort and it was lovely - the location was great, the weather was gorgeous and I would 100% recommend for a stay.

The hotel is an hour from the airport but we just booked Ubers which were very reasonably priced - we did have to wait a while for one to accept taking us back to the airport so in hindsight pre booking in advance is probably a good idea!

We were half board but there are plenty of nice restaurants around the hotel too.

I can imagine like most places during the summer holidays the pool area would be very busy but the beach is huge but if you prefer the pool, I’d say avoid the usual busy holidays times.

It was perfect for us for a long weekend ☀️

Just got back from a gorgeous 8 days in Sardinia.

We flew into Olbia, picked up a hire care and drove to the gorgeous . We stayed there for 3 nights. The hotel location was perfect. We saw the sunset Phi Beach Official which I would 100% recommend.

We then drove 4+ hours through the highest winding mountains roads to Hotel &Ristorante La Bitta which again was a stunning location which I would 100% recommend. We hired a boat for the day and saw all 16 beaches along the coastline.

Finally we drove 2.5 hours to Hotel Flamingo Sardegna near P**a. The location of the hotel was great but I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The food was poor, the staff were dismissive and it definitely isn’t a 4 star resort.

If anyone is thinking of a Sardinia roadtrip/holiday - feel free to contact me for advice/tips/bookings etc.

Lake Bled in Slovenia has been on my travel bucket list for a few years now. It was absolutely stunning!

I stayed at the Grand Toplice Hotel which is right on the lake and is a traditional, old style 5 star hotel.

There are plenty of other hotels/apartments etc to stay at.

There are also a good choice of restaurants and bars nearby.

Flights to Slovenia are quite expensive so my top tip is to fly to a nearby airport and pick up a hire car and then take a road trip 🚗

I flew into Trieste (a 1.5 hour drive to Lake Bled) and out from Venice (a 3 hour drive from Lake Bled). This meant I also got the added bonus of a day wandering around Venice 🇮🇹

Had a lovely stay at the weekend. A gorgeous boutique hotel in Mumbles, Swansea.

Would be lovely to visit again in the Summer ☀️
