Update on Lotherton hall we had 15 structures. The client is very very happy with everything we did so thank you all who supported us . Lotherton hall are wanting us all back next year.

Hi guys just for Jorvik this Year things have changed. We are doing the March through York as normal. Warriors only will be allowed on the field for the skirmishes 3 .There is no Battle this year but there are viking games. Due to the size of the field we are not taking part in this. So this means that you can go have a beer and get round the trading guys at your leisure. We have as normal 2 halls so if you need sleeping it's on first come basis. So if you are wanting to stay please let me know ASAP as the halls fill up fast .

Next weekend will be Ingólfshátíð 2023. Víðförull will be joining us in Nauthólsvík, Nauthólsvegur 100. We will be open from 1pm to 6pm both 8th and 9th July.

Just a very quick one with timings for Saturday 18th:

13:30 March leaves from Dean's Park as usual (muster from 12:30)
14:00 March arrives at the Eye of York and battle commences!
15:00 Nigel will chat with the performers in the evening battle
18:45 Finale event

Arrangements for the march are the same as May as that seemed to go ok. We will ask reenactors to identify which group they are with upon arrival and then head into their group's area which will be roped off. As previously discussed this helps us control who ends up in the battle when the march arrives at Eye of York and reduces the risk of rogue elements joining in. If you could provide nominated captains to vouch for people being in each of your group's that would be great. I know it's not foolproof but it seems to have improved things.

We have booked the Central Methodist Hall on St. Saviourgate again so that people have somewhere to relax in the afternoon. This will be available from 15:00 and we will collect the armies for the evening from the hall ahead of the finale.
