Morning all. And what a lovely morning it is too.
I've been admiring our Conservation Area today and wanted to remind everyone that this area is still very much under threat from the County Council's plans. I've been supporting John Pearce in putting together a dossier that's been submitted to Braintree DC to try and stop the shrinking of our Conservation Area. Why do we need to change something that has worked perfectly well since 1974 - there is no justification for the change - but convincing the council is going to take effort and skill. If elected, I will be offering my expertise to the PC to fight for the boundary to remain unchanged. Mick

I've just been out for a walk with the dogs and see that the fields around us are being prepared for the re-wilding project that is ongoing. So pleased, as we have really noticed a large increase in the number and variety of birds around us, including this beautiful kestrel who sits on the roof of our barn!

We've been enjoying all the new winter planting here at THF, thanks to the lovely team at County Garden Management. A burst of colour on these wintry days is keeping us looking forward to when we are able to have visitors again - it's always exciting to hear about ideas and plans for special celebrations and, of course, weddings.

Such a gorgeous morning to be out with the dogs enjoying all the frosted leaves on the way. As I was walking I thinking about all the lovely couples who have had to cancel their weddings and the very talented, creative people who make these days so special. My heart goes out to you all. So I will be spending the next few weeks in lockdown planning some small events at THF to cheer us up in the New Year (Covid/government allowing of course). Stay well ......

We've just come back from a lovely couple of days in Bath, a real treat for us and the dogs too. It's given us renewed energy and positivity to face the coming challenges over the next few months at THF. This is a photo of the Royal Crescent, so beautiful....
