70 years ago today Lorton House became part of our family. We’re so incredibly lucky to have been able to enjoy so many special family Christmases, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and get togethers at this very special place and love seeing other families enjoying at much as we do!

The amazing Catch at The Old Fish Market featured again as one of the best eateries. It really is must during your time in Weymouth if you’re a seafood lover! They’re often fully booked but you can always grab a bite of their amazing food from Hatch on the Harbour which is right on the harbour below the main restaurant 🎣

So pleased to be included in the food magazine round up of the UK's 10 best spots for coastal dining.
We've said it once, we'll say it again, we're so proud of our harbourside location and the community around us. We're always honoured to share Weymouth far and wide.

Set in its own 11 acres and overlooking the stunning Weymouth Bay through huge bay windows the house sleeps up to 16 guests in 8 bedrooms. The huge farmhouse kitchen with 4 oven AGA is perfect for preparing those special celebratory meals.

Curl up on a squishy sofa in the study with a good book, have a billiards competition on the full size table in the cellar or simply kick a ball around in the field at the front of the house there is something for everyone!

🛌 8 bedrooms - 5 double en-suites, 1 en-suite twin, 2 further twins share a bathroom. 2 travel cots also available.
🛋 Huge drawing room with open fireplace and French windows to the gardens.

🍳 Enormous, well equipped kitchen with 4 oven AGA, separate electric oven, 2 dishwashers, larder fridge freezer and separate large drinks fridge.
👨‍🦽 Ground floor bedroom with en-suite shower and a ramp for the 2 steps up to the front door.
👨‍👩‍👦 Need even more space? There is a separate annexe also available to sleep 2 further guests.

In deference to the history of the house, the strips of cardboard by the servants’ stairs have been left in place as a reminder of the actions taken to help prevent glass shattering as WW2 bombs were dropped in the area.

On International Tea Day we’re delighted to highlight a local business Dorset Tea who have been blending teas for nearly 100 years. The really good news?….we always provide a box in our welcome hampers 😁

Love fresh fish? Hatch on the Harbour is a superb place to grab a quick bite and watch the world go by! It’s in the old fish market on the harbour so you can grab a bigger bite for later!

Perfect weekend for an ice cream 🍦 on the beach 😁. It took forever to decide which flavour though but Weymouth’s Baboo Gelato rum & raisin certainly hit the spot 😋

"We have just returned from a weekend break at Lorton House for a family gathering . It is absolutely beautiful and so spacious . The bedrooms are fabulous and the views from the house are stunning . Everything you could need is provided and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch . You really have to see this house and grounds to appreciate it. As the house is so big there is plenty of room to relax and enjoy the lounges . The kitchen is huge and plenty of equipment to use to cook . The children in our group had a brilliant time exploring and absolutely had the best time ever !"
