So many places to visit in Weymouth!
Looking for a brilliant family day out on the south side of Weymouth Harbour? โ๏ธ
Hop aboard the Weymouth Land Train from the seafront or catch the Row Boat Ferry from near Weymouth Pavilion, then make your way up to the incredible Nothe Fort for one of the best viewpoints in town ๐
Inside the Victorian fort youโll discover fascinating military history, underground passages, interactive exhibits and plenty of hands-on activities to keep all ages entertained. And once you step outside onto the high ramparts โฆ the panoramic Jurassic Coast views really are something special ๐
After exploring the fort, take a wander through the peaceful Nothe Gardens where you can spot wildlife with the help of the many information boards and enjoy some of the prettiest green spaces in Weymouth. Youโll most likely come across a few very friendly squirrels as well!๐ฟ๐ฆ
Then itโs down to beautiful Newtonโs Cove for a relaxing finish to the day. On sunny afternoons the little kiosk there serves what must be amongst the biggest ice cream cones around ๐ฆ๐
You could easily spend two or three hours exploring the fort alone, then another half day enjoying the gardens and cove at your own pace.
For lunch, the Fort View Cafe in the Fort is well worth a stop, or pack a picnic and make the most of the gardens and sea views โ๏ธ
