First Dorset

First Dorset Moving the everyday in Wessex, Dorset and South Somerset. See where the bus takes you. Part of First Bus ๐Ÿš But, we're not stopping there.

Hello there, we're First Bus in Wessex, Dorset and South Somerset. We're your local bus service, here to get you where you need to go - and more than just A to B. Buses bring people closer by helping society go about their day and opening up new experiences. We call it Moving the Everyday, because that's what we're here to do. Across the UK, over 1.4 million journeys are made with us every single

day. Each double-decker bus can take up to 75 cars off the road, and reduce congestion and improving the air we all breathe. As one of the UK's largest bus operators and part of FirstGroup, we're making paying for travel simpler with 'Tap On, Tap Off' and working towards a fully zero-emission fleet by 2035 - creating better travel for people, communities and the environment. So, that's us in Wessex, Dorset and South Somerset. Thanks for letting us be part of your day. Got a question or need help? Visit our website - we're here to help.

Anneka on tour with First Bus ๐ŸšŒ

Weโ€™ve teamed up with legendary TV adventurer Anneka Rice to launch Life Begins at Bus Pass, with a nod to her classic 'Challenge Anneka' days.

This time, the challenge is to inspire the over-60s to grab their best mate, their bus pass and head out on an everyday adventure.

Anneka stopped off in Weymouth, Dorset to meet Peter and Jane in the community who are using their bus pass to bring more to their day. From surprise outings to trying something new just because they can.

Thatโ€™s what moving the everyday is all about.

SCULPTURE #2: STARS OF LYME REGIS
Keeping the Mary Anning Statue company is the beautiful Stars of Lyme Regis.

Jasรถn Curtis is the artist behind this striking design: "As a young child, I grew up in Bermuda, which has historical links with Lyme Regis. This design is inspired by my love of the night sky. The fictional constellations reference some of the historical and prehistorical stars of Lyme Regis. Do you know the relevance of each one?"

Sponsored by First Dorset you can take advantage of group saver tickets if you collect Stars of Lyme Regis on the Stampede by the Sea app! Just tap in the four digit code you'll see at the sculpture to unlock access to the savings, and start to plan your trip along the Jurassic Coast.

See this amazing elephant on the trail until 26th May, and at our Farewell Event at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester in June. You can even provide a forever home to Stars of Lyme Regis at our Charity Auction! Find out how to get tickets to our Farewell Event and register your interest in the Auction on our website.

There will be a 24-hour road closure at Benville Lane, Corscombe from 26th May to 13th June 2025.

This will affect the B4 school route and we will have to divert the service. To ensure that all students are at school on time we will be changing the order and times of some of the pickup locations.

For the duration of the work the pick ups will be as follows โ€“

Halstock Triangle 07.10

East Chelborough 07.18

Evershot 07.26

Bridge Cottages 07.31

Corscombe Fox Inn 08.07

Chedington Turn 08.20

Post Office 08.28

Beaminster School 08.35

The driver will hand this information to every student that uses the B4 over the next couple of days so everyone should be aware of the pickup times. Beaminster School have kindly agreed that they will make this information available to parents as well.

We appreciate this will mean a long journey for the students at the early pickups, but we must ensure that students are on time during this busy exam period.

Thank you all for your assistance and sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.

Due to the reinstatement of the temporary traffic lights on the A354 Ridgeway we are expecting severe delays on the service 10s. Some services will be subject to Diversion via Broadmayne to keep as much of a service frequency as possible.

Due to the through bus nature of our service to Portland this will also affect the service 1.

The 0744 10A service to Thomas Hardye School will serve as far as Turnstone Close and then Divert via Broadmayne to ensure children arrive as close to time as possible.

The 07.27 X51 to Dorchester and Weymouth will terminate at Dorchester South. Please transfer to a service 10 to continue your journey to Weymouth.

The 09.23 X51 from Weymouth Kings Statue to Axminster will begin service at Dorchester South at 09.47.

Passengers requiring Bridport from Weymouth are highly advised to use the X53 service

Short notice cancellations and part journey curtailments will be expected through the day.

Apologies for any inconvenience this will cause to your travel plans.
