🏏Match Report 🏏

On Saturday we made the trip to Chop Gate in the yet again blistering heat!

Losing the toss and being sent out to bowl, we very nearly had a great start. 3 Chances in the first over to remove Josh Smith unfortunately didnt quite go to hand. This seemed to be the case for the rest of the innings, as a total of 10 catches were dropped (there must have been something in the air). Besides the drops, a good showing of resilient bowling and some great fielding managed to keep the hosts to 219 come the close of play.

Heading out to bat, Chop Gate got 3 early wickets with some great bowling. Finn Mahood and Alfie Barber managed to settle the ship, rotating the strike and catching up to the run rate. The display of batting continued with Alfie, Matt Jackson, and Riley Heldt all raising the bat for their 50s. With the runs building and overs passing, the final ball arrived needing 6 to tie the game. Unfortunately, we just couldn't quite get there.

A great effort from all and a very entertaining match to be apart of.

Congrats to Riley on his first Saturday 50 and a well deserved MOTM (Park Nook Cottages )

Next Saturday we face Kirkby Sigston away.
