It was a busy week at the cottage. Lots of maintenance and erecting flat pack furniture. We're very pleased with the results and hope all the guests will be also.

The sofa was looking tired as was the outside dinning table. New bedroom seating and a few other nice touches.

It was a busy week but still had time to entertain and enjoy some lovely walks.

It's been an expensive few weeks for Kate & I. New Sofa's, chaise lounge for the master bedroom, outside bench and 8 seater dining table. All perfectly timed for our family visit.

Pictures to follow and although the Cottage has been very busy I'm sure they'll be a few dates available if anybody's interested.

Ivy cottage surpassed our expectations. We are committed ‘holiday abroad’ types who are currently trapped in the U.K. and booked the cottage as I remembered some great holidays on the N Yorks coast as a kid. We had an amazing time, and Ivy cottage was perfect. The additional annex meant my daughter and her partner (who are not in our bubble) could still join us. And the garden with BBQ, great deck and room for the dog to run around (and luckily all supported by good weather), meant we had a great family holiday! Be aware - the cottage is remote! The Pub in Beck Hole is closed (until autumn I believe) and Goathland with its limited facilities (couple of Pubs and Tea Rooms) is over a mile away. So in reality you need to travel to Whitby 10 miles away for anything more than absolute basics - but so long as you know about this in advance you can chill and enjoy the gorgeous location of the cottage! The cottage is very modern, with a well equipped kitchen, good levels of comfort in each room and plenty of space throughout! Bathrooms are modern with good quality showers. And TV/ entertainment systems are modern and good quality. (Be aware, being remote, WiFi is not the strongest, but it’s there and is fine for most normal uses). We will be back to travelling the world as soon as we can - but have also committed to at least a weekend away in the U.K. each year - and a return visit to Ivy Cottage will definitely be part of the plan!
