I'm back at my desk today after an eventful couple of weeks away. There were campervan problems, tent problems, weather problems... but also dolphins, surfing, ziplines, mountain coasters, a 10k, a much-needed spa and plenty of memories made along the way.

Including that one thing I said actually made me a little bit nervous... any more guesses what it was? 👀

I'll share a little more of the chaos later...

All-inclusive, but perhaps not as you know it… 👀

Set on the coast near Rethymnon in Crete, Grecotel LUXME White combines that easy all-inclusive experience with beautiful Mediterranean styling, an incredible choice of pools and a dining offering that really caught my attention.

LUXME stands for Luxury Made Easy, and that pretty much sums up the concept. Think à la carte dining, Greek and international flavours, cocktails, w**e, sweet treats and plenty more included, rather than spending every evening heading back to the same buffet.

Add in swim-up and private-pool room options, a huge choice of pools, beachfront setting, activities for families and plenty of places to simply switch off, and I think this could work particularly well for both couples and families looking for a luxury all-inclusive holiday in Crete.

There’s no such thing as the “best” holiday. ✈️

Because what makes a holiday amazing for one person could make it completely wrong for someone else.

You might choose somewhere for the food. 🍴
The weather. ☀️
An incredible hotel.
Wildlife.
Culture.
Adventure.
Or simply because you want to switch off and do absolutely nothing for a week.

And that’s why I ask questions.

Quite a lot of them, actually. 😂

Because “somewhere hot” or “a nice hotel by the beach” is a starting point, but I want to understand what you actually want your holiday to feel like.

What matters to you? What do you love doing? What would make you come home thinking, “That was exactly what I needed”?

I’m not looking for the best holiday.

I’m looking for the right holiday for **you**. ❤️

Their first family holiday to Rhodes… and I think it’s safe to say Greece won them over! 🇬🇷

Samantha and her family travelled to Rhodes in May, staying at the Blue Sea Island Hotel for a holiday filled with sunshine, beautiful views, plenty to keep everyone happy and, most importantly, time together.

One of the lovely little wins before they travelled was being able to secure them a room upgrade, giving them that extra bit of space as a family. Sometimes it’s those details that can make such a difference to a holiday.

And I absolutely love hearing that they’ve come home with lovely memories and, apparently, a new-found Greece bug! ❤️

If Lapland is one of those "we'd love to do it one day" holidays... this is your little nudge not to leave the planning too late. ❄️

Lapland is one of those trips where booking early really can matter.

The most popular dates naturally get snapped up. Special accommodation has limited availability. And once you start looking properly, you'll realise there are lots of different ways to experience Lapland.

Do you want the full Santa magic? Huskies and reindeer? Snowmobiling? A cosy cabin? A glass-roofed room beneath the Arctic sky? Or as much as possible squeezed into one incredible trip?

And this is where I'd always say look beneath the surface.

Two Lapland holidays can look very similar at first glance, but the location, flights, accommodation, activities included and the amount of time you actually have there can make a huge difference.

I've broken down a few of the things I'd think about in the carousel.

Cold, dark January... or sunshine somewhere considerably warmer? ☀️

I know which I'd rather choose!

If you're already thinking ahead to escaping the British winter, January to March gives you some brilliant options. But the trick is finding the one that actually suits you.

Thailand if you want culture, incredible food, adventure and beach time.

The Maldives when you really do want to switch off.

Cape Town for food, w**e, scenery and plenty to explore.

The Caribbean when you want that classic winter sunshine, but with lots of different islands and holiday styles to choose from.

Or the Canaries if you want to escape the grey skies without going long haul.

I've put together five of my favourites in this week's Travel Tips, with a little bit about who I think each one suits.

There's something rather special about a first holiday together. 💛

These photos were sent to me by my client Samantha after a family holiday to Rhodes, and for two of the younger travellers, it was their first trip away together as cousins.

They stayed at Blue Sea Island, with plenty of time for the important things: beach days, pool time, exploring, Greek food and making memories together.

And that's exactly why I love receiving my clients' holiday photos. They show the bits that don't make it into a brochure. The places they explored, the things they ate, the fun they had and those little moments that became part of their holiday.
