Rewilding Scotland, or simply restoring the landscape to something more like it was before we messed it up is the current "big idea" in conservation. It's great stuff and demonstrates that long term planning can be achieved in these days of sound bite politics and short term thinking.

The 30-year scheme will cover an area from Loch Ness across the central Highlands to the west coast.
