Wow. We are absolutely shattered. A very late night last night (02:30am) and a very early start at 05:15 this morning getting everything ready for The Taste Of Wickham Festival today. Thankfully the weather was good to us this year and there was no rain although there were a few gusty breezes during the day.
The Square was packed and all of the 60 stall holders looked like they have had a good day.
For our part, we had a lovely day- the children (young ones and older versions -called adults) loved feeding and making a fuss of the three goats (Msasa, Mopani and Whistler.) who were all very well behaved and didn’t try and escape once. The two food stalls, like previous years, were a success with our cooked sausages having an almost constant queue with the demand for the two goat and two pork flavours- particular the spicy goat sausage. Every time they thought it was going quiet and they could have a break, the queue would form again. The fresh meat stall next door was just as busy with a nearly sell out day and our new flavoured goat sausage of rosemary and tomato was a resounding success
Thank you so much to all our helpers today, without your help it would not be as successful let alone possible to pull off all that was needed
So thank you to Bob, Mick, Jan, and Marie for your help on the goat stall and a big thank you to Shane and Matt for spending a long, warm day cooking over hot BBQ (braai).
Thank you to all our customers- returning regulars and newcomers to goat meat. See you again next year
Last photo shows three of the goats at last year’s Taste Of Wickham Festival - Mum Bellamy with Mopani and Msasa who were only nearly 3 months old.
