A lot of our guests like to visit The Dragon pub in Willington ….

We’re pleased to share that the same management team have also taken over The Bubble at Stenson.

Instead of turning right and walking along the canal, you can turn left and walk to the fascinating Stenson lock where you can watch boats travel through one of the deepest locks on the Trent and Mersey canal.

The Bubble Inn is located next to the lock, and offers the same great dining experience as The Dragon.

From the marina it’s about a 2 mile walk along the towpath.

Definitely worth checking out 🤗😋🍻

Live music this weekend on the bandstand at Mercia Marina

Following on from their fantastic performance at the Artisan Fair, HorthWorld are returning this weekend for a longer performance from midday to 3pm this Saturday.

If the sound of Oasis, Radiohead or Coldplay are your thing, come along and enjoy a FREE performance by a respected local artist. As always, it's FREE parking too.

It’s been lovely weather at the marina all week. Here’s a view from Mercia Marina boardwalk from of our friends at Beetroot Tree cafe - such a lovely vantage point to enjoy a snack, cuppa or (especially on days like today) ice cream.🍦 😋😋😋

Ooohhh…. If you’ve been to the marina in the last 12 months you might have spotted some building works.

There’s apartments, but also there’s a whole new bunch of retail outlets overlooking the water as well.

Here’s the announcement about the first 2. Will keep you posted on who else is coming to add to the already lovely variety of boutique shops, cafes and food outlets on the marina…..

Our friends at Compamigos Derby are open today despite the snow.

Great place for a warming pit stop halfway round if you’re staying at Heather Lodge at Mercia Marina, and doing a lap of the marina’s perimeter road (highly recommended!)

The main roads leading to the marina are currently passable, and the amazing team have been working hard to clear the car park and boardwalk this morning.

It was a cold, but beautiful sunny day here at Mercia Marina. The Marina and lake by Heather Lodge were completely frozen over, but inside was lovely toasty and warm ready for our next guest arrival today 🤗
