Some holidays are about being seen. Others are about being able to disappear for a while.
On Friday, I attended a supplier lunch with Van Isacker Exclusive and learnt more about Ambergris Cay, A Private Island Resort, an ultra exclusive private island resort in the Turks and Caicos - it’s the perfect retreat for clients for whom privacy is an essential part of their holiday.
Guests can choose a secluded beachfront bungalow with its own heated plunge pool or one of the island’s private villas, complete with the attentive service you would expect from a luxury resort.
It’s premium all-inclusive too, with freshly prepared à la carte dining throughout the day and no buffets in sight.
The island experience can be as active or as relaxed as you choose. Yoga classes, guided nature walks, tennis, paddleboarding, kayaking, non-motorised water sports and onshore fishing are all included.
There’s also the beachfront Club House with comfortable loungers, a pool table, table tennis, video games and board games. Younger guests aged five and over can enjoy the Explorer’s Hut, with interactive games and treasure hunts.
For those travelling with a larger family or group, Dream Estate is in a league of its own. With 11 bedrooms sleeping up to 22 guests, four heated pools and its own driving range, it’s essentially a private resort within a private island.
Even the arrival has been designed with privacy and ease in mind. Guests flying commercially can take an included onward flight from Providenciales, while private aircraft can fly directly into Ambergris Cay.
