Next Stop: A Day Trip to Hvar 🇭🇷☀️

The next stop on our Croatian adventure was a day trip to the beautiful island of Hvar – and it absolutely lived up to the hype!

We took the car ferry from Split, which made it super easy to explore at our own pace. Once on the island, we spent the day discovering some of Hvar’s most stunning beaches and crystal-clear coves – perfect for swimming, relaxing, and soaking up the sunshine.

We wandered through the charming streets of Hvar Town, stopped for coffee in the bustling main square, and climbed up to the Spanish Fortress (Fortica) for the most incredible panoramic views over the harbour and Pakleni Islands.

Other highlights included visiting Dubovica Beach – a real hidden gem – and driving along the scenic coastal roads that gave us glimpses of local vineyards, lavender fields, and tiny traditional villages.

Hvar has a real mix of relaxed island life and glamorous hotspots – you can enjoy beach bars like Hula Hula or venture inland for more peaceful, authentic experiences.

This Week’s Booking – A Family Adventure Through Turkey 🇹🇷

This week I’ve booked an incredible multi-centre holiday for a family exploring the rich variety that Turkey has to offer – combining vibrant cities, unique landscapes, and coastal relaxation.

Their journey begins in Istanbul, soaking up the city's fascinating history with visits to the Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar, and a cruise along the Bosphorus. From there, they’ll head to magical Cappadocia for a stay at the iconic Argos in Cappadocia, famous for its luxurious cave rooms and views of the sunrise hot air balloons.

Next, they'll enjoy a short stay aboard a traditional gulet cruise, sailing along Turkey’s stunning turquoise coast – a relaxing, off-the-beaten-track experience with plenty of swimming, sunbathing, and scenic anchorages.

The trip ends with a few days in Fethiye, where they’ll unwind on the beach, explore the local markets, and take in the relaxed charm of the Turkish Riviera.

A Day Trip Worth Its Own Post – Krka National Park 🇭🇷

While we were staying in Split, we took a day trip to the breathtaking Krka National Park – and it absolutely deserves a post of its own.

Just under 1.5 hours’ drive from Split, Krka is a stunning natural wonder, known for its series of cascading waterfalls, lush walking trails, and crystal-clear river pools. It’s a perfect escape from the city and a must-visit for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone who just wants to slow down and take in the beauty of Croatia’s landscapes.

We wandered along wooden walkways through forests and beside turquoise waters, stopped for a boat ride up the river, and visited the historic monastery on Visovac Island. Every corner of the park felt like something out of a postcard.

Just Back From Croatia – First Stop: Split 🇭🇷

I’ve just returned from an incredible holiday to Croatia, and our first stop was a 5-night stay in the beautiful coastal city of Split.

Split has the perfect mix of history, culture, and laid-back Mediterranean charm. We explored the incredible Diocletian’s Palace, wandered through the atmospheric old town, and enjoyed sunset drinks along the Riva promenade. One of the highlights was a boat trip to the nearby Dalmatian islands – crystal-clear waters, hidden coves, and that relaxed island vibe you just can’t beat.

Split made the perfect base to kick off the trip – with great food, lovely boutique hotels, and easy access to both history and the sea.

Looking Back – My Stay at Costa Botanica

Last year I stayed at Costa Botanica in Corfu, and it’s a resort that truly left a lasting impression.
