Looking for a challenge? Enjoy a self-guided walk on the waymarked eastern loop of the popular Winchcombe Way. This varied route weaves through woodland and alongside streams, passing through quiet, off-the-beaten-track villages before descending the scarp and following low-level footpaths back to Winchcombe. Fine views accompany much of the route.

All entrants receive a Winchcombe Way guidebook and pen, plus a certificate on completion — a rewarding challenge for enthusiastic walkers.

Today the Winchcombe Walkers are Welcome group were proud to officially open the newly surfaced footpaths from Broadway Road to Sudeley Castle grounds and of course, the very special gate in Castle Street. Jim Mason, Chairman of Winchcombe Town Council and long time supporter of WWaW unveiled the gate and Sudeley Castle provided refreshments for the invited guests

This completes the missing link in the footpath network, meaning people can walk safely in ordinary shoes at any time of the year all round Winchcombe, linking Corndean Lane, Sudeley Castle, Broadway Road, Winchcombe Park and Gretton Road.

Special thanks go to local businesses Kenelm Joinery and Forgeability for creating the gate, which is a work of art.
