Had such a great couple of days working with and several groups of people on the path to recovery. Such incredible people choosing to turn their lives around. Probably some of the most meaningful work I’ve ever had listening to such humbling stories. It felt great to go paddling together and for many who hadn’t tried it, it brought a lot of joy.

We stopped half way and had a pause, a meditation in savasana, taking in the sounds and sensations whilst floating on the canal. Such a simple tool to quieten our minds and calm our bodies.

Emily & Cat took them biking along the towpath trail and there were smiles and wheelies as they passed us lol.

It was big hugs and teary eyes for me at the end. Thank you for organising this empowering activity for this community of people.

Wetsuits are a must this time of year and are available to hire £5

What does a SUP Yoga session look like?

No previous SUP or yoga experience necessary!
We will go through basic paddle techniques whilst kneeling,
How to get on and off our boards, drop an anchor, we will do a sequence of yoga asanas called Sun Salutations, various yoga poses and functional fitness stretches. All tailored to your personal level of challenge! From lying, kneeling and standing! You’ll be surprised what you can achieve.

👋 Stef Kerek SUP Yoga Lakes our brilliant Paddle Board Safety Co-ordinator for the Crooklands Canalathon event on the 31st August. 🌊🌿🏃‍♀️

Stef will be keeping everyone safe and sound during the paddle board 'leg' of the event by checking those leashes are firmly on, explaining how to use your board as a buoyancy aid and how to paddle safely under the bridges!
