Well I’ve had two people cancel reservations due to Corona virus. Apparently there has been an outbreak in Winkleigh. Well I live here and haven’t heard of any incidents in Winkleigh. This mass panic is crazy.

We’ve had a fantastic few months. Beautiful weather, lovely woodland walks and some great guests. We hope the rest of the summer is just as lovely. X

I was cold called by a company called Teachers discounts. They asked if I would be interested in offering teachers a discount to stay at Wagtails Cottage. If interested you paid for a Gold, silver or Bronze package. I wasn’t at home and didn’t have a pen to hand so asked them to email me some details. I received and email with an awful wagtails cottage graphic. It didn’t show any information about my cottage at all but was offering 10% discount. At the bottom of email was a section with £114 cost. I thought it was poorly done and decided not to contact them about joining. Today I received an email from a Caroline Billington threatening debt collectors. Well Caroline I have left a voice mail message and sent an email to you to say. I no longer interested in becoming a member of your company.

We’ve had some lovely sunny days. Harrowing, seeding and rolling done. Woods finally mud free and dogs happy. Horses all over the moon, having been moved onto new paddocks.

Christmas is over and the new year is nearly here. Lots of rain and mud but quite warm. We’ve had some lovely guests this year and hope to welcome more in 2019. Happy new year, let’s hope is a good one x

We’ve had some lovely guests over the last few months. Some with children, some with their lovely dogs and some visiting for a quiet stay. We’ve had wind, rain and the odd day of beautiful sunshine. Yesterday was sunny and warm so I decided to take rugs off. (Big mistake). Chickens are still giving us eggs and we had a cat arrive from lord knows where, who has made a home in the hay barn and sits in the school watching me ride. Looking forward to a busy Christmas.

Still getting rain but a few more sun shine moments. Our new chickens are laying eggs. Days getting longer. Will be glad to see the mud dry up and the grass start to grow again. Lots of rain, lots of mud, frosty nights and chilly mornings. We’ve had some beautiful clear nights, so many stars.
Roll on summer. Lots of bookings coming in and starting to get busy.

Despite the recent windy weather, autumn is in full swing, lots of fallen leaves, green making way to browns, oranges and yellows. Lots of availability for a stay and now getting bookings for next year.
