We were pleased to receive some very nice guests today. Local Cubs and Scouts came to visit the castle for a tour of the house and vaults. They were polite, bright and pleasant young people and a credit to the area.

Thanks to our volunteers Susan Wallwork and Steve Tierney for giving up their time to be the tour guides this evening.

It's been a busy couple of weeks for the volunteers, with back to back events. We had two weeks of the Wisbech Reads Event, followed by Wisbech Rose Fair, where we once again welcomed the Militia of Anglia for two days of reenactment. Plus one area of the garden has been redeveloped and planted with a mix of flowering shrubs and perennials, along with some bedding plants.
It was good to see so many people visiting.

If you missed the Militias today, they are back tommorow at the Castle 10am-3pm

This morning Amanda organised a working party to help with some gardening work. We are starting to clear some of the bushes on the top slope that have a lot of dead wood in the centre and congested with ivy and brambles. We have new shrubs and perennials waiting to go in, once we get some rain! All bushes were checked for birds nests prior to any work.
Thanks go to Paul, Colin, Josh and Amanda for their hard work.

It's been a busy day at the Castle today with our first Civil Ceremony of the year.
We would like to wish Garry and Paul all the very best for their future.
The morning for volunteers was spent tidying the garden and the afternoon making sure the guests and grooms had all they needed to enjoy the special day.
It is always such a privilege as a volunteer to be part of someone's special day.
Also a big thank you for donating the pots of daffodils to our garden.
If you would like to know more about a wedding or civil ceremony at Wisbech Castle, please contact Wisbech Town Council for a tour and more information.
