“Did You Know? One Spider Changed Scotland’s Destiny”
Captured here is the mighty statue of Robert the Bruce, King of Scots (1306–1329), standing tall at Bannockburn — a symbol of bravery, resilience, and national pride.
Fun Fact: After suffering defeat, Bruce hid in a cave where he watched a spider repeatedly try — and fail — to spin its web. It finally succeeded, inspiring Bruce to persevere. He returned stronger and went on to lead Scotland to a historic victory at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 — one of Scotland’s most significant wins in the Wars of Independence.
His story is a timeless reminder: If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again — even a King took advice from a spider!
Whether in battle or building a business, persistence wins.
